Sweet...by pure chance that's when I moved to the back room. Did he just play hard and non melodic for the rest of the night?

why would not recognizing any tracks be a disaster? usually that's what I try to go see.

So why go see Sharam?? Just go see random dj's!! Its like going to a Jay-z concert and Jay-z not singing any of his songs.. Your analogy doesn't make sense.

Actually, your analogy doesn't. Epic fail.

+1
DJ IDeaL
add +1 to that...

I always like hearing new things rather than the same stuff played every where else...

who remembers 'white label' vinyl records? those were always fun to find and usually things not released or out

Regardless it was a fun time as everyone stayed till 4am... to some of us pickier listeners it could have been better...

but none the less a good time was had with good people :)

I wasn't even using an analogy :tongue3

I think people go see someone like sharam because of the style of music he plays, im sure if someone like say kaskade decided to drop a minimal set i think people would be upset.
for once i would like to see a promoter bash an artist if they didnt bring it. I didnt see sharam, so i have no opinion on his set, but lets start calling a spade a spade.

would have given spin a shot this friday but saw blank and jones this summer(thanks james williams) and ive never seen darude and missed him in SF and LA in novemeber.

those that keep up on Sharam's music know he's been releasing some harder stuff recently. Texi was a step in that direction and Crazi is full techno. the 1st song Sharam started with on Sat nite was a very commercial track which i think was off of his forthcoming new album (i thought it was to be out now but he said in the spring). I know towards the end of his set he was playing some of his big hits too so its not like he didn't drop any of his big tracks. and aren't djs free to change their style of music as they see fit? Giant didn't advertise "come see Sharam play his new CD". why pay $30+ to see someone play songs you can hear in your own home. take a look at Rukes' photos - the crowd sure looks like they were enjoying the music by all the hands in the air - that's seems like a good way judge IMO if you were not there.

That's why i knew not to pay the cash to see him, his newer style. I got one of his recent radio sets, and it was horrible IMO. He wasn't playing anything moving with energy or progression, just 2min buildups to nowhere.

If i wanted to see techno i would have gone to see someone WAY better then him that has been playing techno for years. Not someone that got into the techno/minimal bandwagon just recently because its the "in thing" i guess...

As far as the people partying out at the Vanguard pics, they will always mark out no matter what. People that know music KNOW Benassi's set at EDC was subpar and unimpressive, YET some people are claiming it was the set of the year. So honestly we cant go by the average club goer because for the most part they are just going just "to-go."

I put all the money in the world, that if you asked 10 random people at Vanguard about Sharam's latest tracks i bet most wont know a thing. I am pretty sure maybe 5 out of the 10 will know "get wild," maybe 3-4 will know about "texi and or secret parkway/dubway." And that is prolly because of his myspace. But i am sure 9/10 will know part all the time or the one that tracks that got him there after the break up...
