DJ Teknique, you're such a cool DJ, such an "expert," you give everyone advice on how to DJ and what not to do, so how come we've never heard any real mixes from you? Oh, and do you DJ at a club?
Anyone can bull about the TEKNIQUE and make fun of other people's names, styles, and music -- but what have you done yourself, other than getting yourself those expensive Tech's-1200?

dj name is lost for a variety of reasons. reason one is that i love hemingway and my favorite book of his is the sun also rises. the writing of the sun also rises was inspired by a conversation of hemingways's with gertrude stein in which she commented that "You are all a lost generation." and the lost generation is so well depicted in the sun also rises. hemingway expounds on this in a moveable feast where he ponders that everyone is lost in their own generation. and that's how i view the rave scene. where all these lost individual souls come together to from one huge organic being for as many hours as the party lasts. i feel it identifies with a large number of people. also i picked the name lost for it's religious connontations and because it exposes the fact that people don't view all their options but stick with the one most often presented. example is that i dj a lot for christian events but my name is lost and peeps generally perceive that to mean lost soul to Christ but they forget that Christ said to deny yourself and follow him so then i'm lost to myself and the world which is the meaning behind it. a long explanation but i'm half-german/half-indian so by my heritage i tend to think too much and philosophize.

The ONLY people I respect on these boards are Skywarp and DJ Dawn... They are real DJ's, and they don't make any childish jokes about anyone. To everybody else who wants to ridicule me or the music I like (which is not EuroDance, JohnSmith, but Euro-TRANCE)... a big You. |
