Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Animated Series)

After four absolutely wretched movies (Ep. 1-3, The Clone Wars), finally it's looking like Lucas might have done something worthwhile again with the Star Wars franchise outside of the realm of video games.

Caught the first two episodes Sunday night and thought they were great - the first was much stronger than the second. Not too dumbed down for kids (no more than Star Wars has ever been), and so far generally interesting storylines that flesh out the background of some lesser known characters.

Anyway, repeats are on tonight at 9 EST on the Cartoon Network. If you're a self described Star Wars fan, it's probably worth checking out.

So no over-acting, overdone CG, horrible character and plot development this time?
Frenchie
I mentioned this to someone and they said, "ew".

I'm going to check it out next time it's on.

ps- ben ninja edits.

Well, I mean - the whole thing is CG, so I don't know that it could have been "overdone", as it's the only medium :p

The animation is, I think, great - not overdone, and there is absolutely no overacting (a nice byproduct of good animation), and it's only a half hour, so they have to be pretty to the point.

Also, it doesn't seem like there's a lot of continuity between the episodes - each seems to be kind of it's own independent story of something that took place during the Clone Wars, and if it maintains that track I think it could be pretty cool.

Yeah I see your point as it can't look stupidly overdone like eps 1-3.

Awesome. Too the point and not full of mindless banter is good.

Well then it sounds like it may be good. I will give it a shot. Even though I watch so little tv as it is.

Tricia: I had to. I read Robs post as "eps 1-3 clone wars" not "eps 1-3, clone wars" as it was written. I realized I was a ing dumbass for it so I deleted. :D :p

Only two episodes in so far, so it's probably too early to tell - but I did really enjoy the two I've seen, far more than any of the prequel movies.

The first episode is a story about Yoda that was one of the first Star Wars things I've seen in a while (other than the story in TFU) that I thought was an A+ addition to the storyline.

Totally different, IMO, than the original cartoon clips - but I can see where you're coming from.

I didn't like the cartoon either.

There needs to be an end to "star wars" stuff... 3 were enough. 6 were too many, now more?:whip:

Hmmm, I don't know. Probably too early to tell, because the first two episodes are totally independent of one another - almost like two shorts stories of events that took place during the Clone Wars.

So I don't know if it's going to be some kind of consistent story or just a collection of them.

i think Yahtzee hit it on the head when he commented all of this prequel stuff should be thrown out for a new arc involving Vader breakdancing for universal supremacy|
