Did anyone else go to this ? :)

ing wicked day / night. :gsmile:

Best DJ set (IMHO) was John Kelly in the Slinky arena.
Then Fergie in the Essential Mix Arena.
And Judge Jules hammering it on the Radio 1 outdoor stage.
Not to mention Carl Cox on the same stage for the last set :)
Excellent
:happy2:

Only thing that ed up my weekend was the England game, but I watched that in Winchester with loads of people who were still ed up from Homelands.

In Summary :)

Arrived @ about 2:15pm after queuing miles to get in and having to find a bar in winchester that was showing the football early in the morning.

Dave Pearce was .
Judge Jules played a cracking set but only really got going when the Live Broadcast went on air.

Ferry Corsten played an excellent set, but was on too early (5pm - 7pm)

Set of the night had to go to John Kelly in the Slinky arena.

VERY closely followed by Fergie (Essential Mix arena), who although he was half an hour late on, soon picked up the pace.

(First 3 Tracks - First Rebirth, Can U dig it & Madagascar 2002)

After leaving fergie's set, went to see scot project, but for some reason his set was really quiet.

Have photos of all of the arena's - but the Slinky arena gets :-

HOMELANDS

Saturday June 1st 2002
The Bowl, Matterley Estate, Near Winchester, Hampshire, England

Finally it was June the 1st, with other words the huge festival Homelands will start in a place on the other side of the Northsea in .. England!! With a bus full of crazy dutch party animals who were about to travel towards France to get on the Shuttle to get to England. After 15 hours we finally arrived at The Bowl! Homelands here I come!!

Oh my god what a view do you have as soon as you can see all those tents and people. Amazing!!

The First arena we went through was the Muzik Live Arena where Beta Band was giving a nice relaxed performance. This was the place where Basement Jaxx was goin to rock the Arena in some hours. After this we went to the Bacardi Bbar, where they played really swinging dance with salsa sounds. Of course I had to taste how a bacardi breezer tastes like in England ;) hehe. With a breezer in one hand we traveled towards the Space Arena, where later this night a magik duo would spin back 2 back. Those two were offcourse Sasha and Digweed!! Couldnt wait till they had to spin! At this moment one of our dutch progressive hero's was spinning, Sander Kleinenberg!

After this we went towards the BBC 1 Outdoor Stage. On the way there you could allrdy hear the banging tunes of Judge Julessss!! WOooohooo he was spinning really pumping tracks, every track was harder and better than the last one, my god what an amazing set! He's so funny during his spinning though with all his facial expressions and he also lifted up a bord saying: "Now cheer everyone!" Whaha that was fun!

AFter this we decided to go to the end arena (techno arena) where Mr C was spinning some nice tracks, it wasn' that crowded at that time but when it was almost finished it was fully crowded! Because... Jeff Mills was behind the wheels of steel!! Oh my what a nice set did he spin, all those trax were so full of energy! I haven't heard him yet till now and wow he was soo good!

And ofcourse I had to be at my favorite dj Tiėstooooo!!!! Wow I thought it was crowded at Jeff Mills but this was totally insane, probably one of the biggest arena's was totally overcrowded! Even at the entrance were standing people to just get a glimpse of the DJ of my homecountry! What an unbelievable amazing set did he spin WOW that was sooo freaking good!! Southern Sun (DJ Tiesto Rmx) ofcourse, but also Solar Coaster, Three Drives On A Vinyl - Carrera 2(org mix), Way Out West - Mindcircus (Gabriel and Dresden Remix), ofcourse some of his own trax like Obsession, Lethal Industry and also FLIGHT 643, WOOOOOoooOOTTT , that was soooo coooool!! He just climbed on the DJ-Booth and stood there 4 meters above the ground with his hands in the air as if he's flying there, and he even let his headphones fly away into the crowd!! What an amazing set was that unbelievable! Crazy dutch people coming all the way from Holland to see one of their homecountry's dj :p hehe, I really didn't want to miss this set! And I was not the only one, the whole crowd was jumping and screaming, Everyone went Crazy!!!

Was so funny he was then told that he could still spin a last track, he only just threw away his headphones.. :P But they had a spare one near there fortunately so he could put on the last track to let Seb Fontaine take over the turntables.

While Seb Fontaine was playing his set, Tiėsto walked down towards the crowd where everyone tried to give him a hand or to take a picture together with him.

Although Seb Fontaine was spinning nice tracks the crowd was getting smaller, everyone like me was on the way to Space Arena where Sasha and Digweed were spinning BACK2BACK!!! While walking towards Space Arena, I also walked past the BBC 1 Outdoor Stage where the last DJ for this stage was spinning his loud techno tunes Carl Cox was up high behind the decks with all kind of nice coloring lights beside above and behind him! Even it was allrdy bit cold, there were still a lot of people goin crazy, noone was feeling cold anymore!

Reaching the Space Arena it seemed as if there was no way to get into this arena, it was so fully crowded, unbelievable! No surprise though with the two best progressive dj's of the world spinning back2back! With some effort I was able to stand in the front of the arena before the two dj's! Oh my god, didn't know I was goin to see these two heroes together! They probs won't come here to Holland that very often, maybe if there is something very special, but still then not those two at the same time! What an unbelievable kickass set did they spin, a very dynamic set! When one was spinning the other was playing with the effects or pumping up the crowd making them crazy! And they got me crazy oh yeah!! The light fx was very cool in here, and it wasn't a high Arena so it had a very nice atmosphere in it, very spacey ;) hehe, FANTASTIC!!

After 3 hours the amazing show was over. So Sasha introduced the next show, it was again one of Holland finest, Junkie XL! He started with a very nice gitar tune, so relaxed. It was a totally different style, but still progressive ofcourse!

Ofcourse I also had to eat a bit, not too long though that would be a waste of time hehe, I decided to eat some english fries with ketchup while I enjoyed the chilling music of Roger Sanchez! Oh and I don't know if it's normal there in England, but they gave away free water!! Wow that is really "two thumbs up" for the organisation, Superb!

On the way to the End Arena, I was also able to enjoy a part of Pete Tongs Essential mix, which was also broadcasted on the radio.

I also enjoyed a part of the set of Signum, seems as if they are more popular here than in Holland :p But wow what a good trancey set did the spin! Too bad I couldn't see John '00' Fleming, he had to spin in the early hours unfortunately. Otherwise I would definitely hear Digital Blonde - Legato 2002!

After this I ended up in the.. End Arena :D Richie Hawtin was behind the wheels of steel putting on some nice techno tracks, it was fully crowded, at the end it was still crowded the french Laurent Garnier would spin the decks, so lots of fans were allrdy in the arena to get close to the dj. The Soundquality of the music was pretty good here, very loud! And the lasers were kickass!

danceaddict
A last quick peek in the space arena resulted in a DJ wearing a red shirt. Rui da Silva was behind the decks spinning some nice summer-sounding tunes.

Ofcourse I didn't want to miss Armin 'A State of Trance' van Buuren!! WooooOHooo trance to tha max!! What a fully overcrowded Arena again, gotta love that!

The whole Arena was full of people dancing on the ground but also on the stage! Some nice girls were entertaining the people with their moves, body, solo..

Or with someone else ;) :D

There were some fake flames at the sides of the dj booth a bit in front of it.. It looked pretty nice toobad sometimes u couldnt see the dj if u were standing before those flames hehe. ALso the lights and lasers were so cool in here!!

Too bad the soundsystem was not really super in here. But that didn't stop Armin from spinning good, soo freakin gooood I mean!!!! Trance to tha best!! A lot of "A state of Trance" tunes like "Solarcoaster" etc. and also the remix of "FSOL - Papua New Guinea", and he ended with the stunning song "Eyal Barkan & A-Force - Revolution"!! Everyone was jumping and dancing when he played his last song, wow what an amazing set!

During the last tune Scot Project was allrdy standing beside Armin to take of the wheels of steel to spin some kickin ass hardhouse tunes. Beside his own productions like "Overdrive", "Outerspace", he also ofcourse spinned his remixes of "Listen to me Mama", "Theme from Banginglobe", "Throw your hands" and ooooooooooh "DING A LING"!!!!!! God I love that break with that kickin ass saw sound!! I still get Goosebumps when I'm thinking of that part of his set amazing!

The crowd was totally goin crazy when Lisa Lashes stood there beside Scot Project!! L I S H A L A S H E S !!!!!! WoW What an honour to see UK's finest female hardhouse dj :D She looks sweet!! She was the last DJ of the Arena who could make the whole Arena goin up and down, and wow she really drove everyone crazy!! Although it was allrdy 5 o'clock in the morning, everyone was still jumping all over the place! No time to rest just jump and dance! Every tune was harder and faster than the last one, was an explosive set was it OOoh FaNtAsTic!!!

Too bad also this party had to end, but wow what a wonderfull time did I had here in England (my first party ever in England btw), I so didnt want to miss this party! it was so unbelievable goooooood!!! I won't forget this party ever, it was the best!
My day began and ended perfect and hard!

So... Homelands see you next Year!!!

Special thanx to 100% Bouma Bros who organised the bus-trip to England, what a great job dudes, So many many thanx!

Also greetings to the other bus-party animals c u next time!
