So I knew i was getting a raise, but I didnt imagine it would be that much.
What would be a nice thing to say to the owner, for the first I really dont know what to say? Last time my raised major sucked and caught me off guard. |

So you are saying you got a bigger raise than you thought?
Or you're not sure what it's going to be? |

| My boss said "you get a raise every six months" and now he says "no, you just get a raise when you get a new client." I need to remember to record everything he says, because he literally contradicts himself within seconds sometimes. |

I have a base salary + commission.
So my boss says, "Give yourself a raise by selling MORE."
He also insists the economy is not bad...
I just need to find more clients to compensate for the clients who are not buying as much.:( |

I don't know. If it were me, I'd probably go with something like "Hey, I really appreciate the raise, thanks. That was a very pleasant surprise"
:p |

The best thanks you can give is work harder/smarter.
Don't show your cards by admitting you were surprised.
You are worthy.:) |
