Wow- some of you are just so blatantly rude.. (BEN!) haha.
When people come up to you - you don't have to think of them as stalkerish. Remember in San Fran? You just came up to me and I didn't think that's stalkerish.
Some people like to actually get into this TA thing slowly and I apprciate the fact that they are willing to come up to me and introduce themselves.
I always love meeting TA's. Regardless of your post count.
I prefer that then some noobs contantly post whoring, just so we can recognize them.
Always going to be addicted to this site because I am constantly meeting new people. Just met StanVoid this weekend and Coolestrl. :happy2: |
lol I was not a total n00b at that time though. I had been posting a bit in the c0r (about 3-4 months) and was known enough to introduce myself. I only introduce myself to TAs I want to meet, that I have gotten to know a bit. So :p on you!

lurkers classify as people who also check out your fb and myspace pages...it is fine if they leave it to the boards but when they start "researching" you tha's freaking weird. and if they do research you keep that to yourself

It isn't the meeting people over the internet. It is the fact that they are very stalkerish by not posting, so you have no clue about them, but they know everything about you that you have posted about. |
to be honest, i think the people who just browse these forums for a good laugh every now and then and don't post are probably the more normal ones compared to those who post here on a daily basis. lol |

The thing is though, what defines normal? Because some supplant physical contact with virtual? I mean, I don't disagree that the physical medium does develop social skills much better than the virtual, but the "norm" is just something that has been in place because we have a longer history of physical contact than virtual.
Apply the same concepts to real life, and you would definitely be classified as a stalker, but bring it into the digital world and you are no longer a stalker? |

| What are you talking about? |

i just mean that those people might chose not to get involved in the forums due to whatever reasons (too busy at work, or busy personal lives, etc...) so they just come on occasionally and read around and laugh and go on with their day. i'm sure anyone who just browsed a couple times a week when they had some down time would very quickly become familiar with TAs like Jennypie (posts a lot of pictures) or Jay (posts a lot of sometimes funny, sometimes not so funny bull) so it's not like they are total stalkers for recognizing someone who posts a zillion pictures of themself on a site they browse sometimes.
and jenny i'm not being insulting or anything but i'm just saying u DO post a load of pictures all the time and then ur like, "omg it's stalkerish if someone recognizes me". lol |

| What would you do if out of the blue , some stranger started repeatedly screaming at you for vodka sauce? |

The whole thing of this thread was not talking about merely recognizing someone. It was as if I knew a-z about you, but you didn't even know a let alone z about me. :)
From a mere recognition aspect, I am whatever. I get recognized by people when I am out all the time and I am clueless who they are. lol |

well, once again...we DO pretty much put ourselves out there on these forums. god knows i get EMO from time to time with my personal bull. i sort of use you guys as a diary and u can take it or leave it. it's because it's easier to confide in you guys than it is with any of my "real life" friends and i know i'll get an honest opinion on here lol
so if someone recognized me from TA and was a fan of my posts i would simply be flattered and have a drink with them rather than get creeped out. |
