Contemplating moving out to Pacific Northwest from Chicago.

If I decide to go out at some point in Seattle, how are my options looking nowadays?

Wanted to ask the same question since I'll be there next month for work.

believe it or not the scene isnt bad. Ive gone up to seattle a few times but not in a couple of years. Right next door to each other you have Trinity and Last supper club, and down the street was a place called club heaven. LSC and heaven were EDM only and trinity had 3 rooms of music. I had a good time going out in seattle.

Is Element still around?

I saw Digweed destroy that place a few yrs. back, I thought it was a great venue.

Youre going to move from Chicago to Seattle just for the EDM scene???

I don't think he said that. :conf:

Anyway, the scene was alright when I went. Not my cup of tea so much, but you can definitely get your fix, as long as you're not too picky :)

No, I am thinking of moving to the Pacific Northwest in general. I feel like I have gotten out of Chicago as much as I can. I no longer enjoy living here.

I am moving because there are several large companies in my field and surrounding areas, I like the climate, new things to experience, etc. but since I don't intend to become a hermit - I'd like to know what kind of a nightlife Seattle offers in case I do decide to go out once in a while.

Whats the prevalent music genre there that gets booked?

Check out the events thread at the top of thie board - Seattle does get its fair share of good DJs - mainstream and indie both.

Another good site to check out is NW Tekno.

I did, it looks pretty good. Cut Copy, MSTRKRFT, etc.

How about nightlife in general - after work lounges, places where you can just socialize instead of getting pounded in the head with bass?
