I can solo tracks in the mixer after i make a multi output instrument ie Ultrabeat i can split theaudio outputs and the midi regions to put different sounds on different channels but if i solo any of the tracks all the instrument solos, same if you want to mute one midi track, they all mute..

is there a way to work round this ???

Can't understand your question but remember that "In Logic, everything is possible".
Try to watch some videos from Macprovideo.com
Or some Youtube short lessons...

cheers

Press 'S' and select your regions in the arrangement window to solo-play something. Either this or solo them in the mixer instead :-)

As far as I know this is the only way to do it.

This doesn't work as you would expect in Logic's mixer. When you have a multi out instrument, soloing one channel solos all the output channels of the instrument in the mixer.

That's not the case here really. If I pull up the standalone mixer window I can actually solo each track that's available individually. Even if it's a multi-output instrument.

I only tried it with Battery 3 and it didn't work. It solos the entire instrument. Maybe it works with EXS24, but I never use that instrument as a multi output.

passiva is right, you can solo each track on the mixer but the problem was on soloing on the arrangement window, but i found out how to sort it..

Preferences > Audio > General > Track Mute/Solo = Slow

Now you can solo each track via the3 arrangement window..

One peroblem with this is that when you click a track in the arrangement window the relevant mixer track in the Inspector and Mixer would normally be hilighted, but it doesnt..

Yes it does. But I'd rather use LAME because of the quality.

I'm not sure, but I'd love to know this myself! Anyone?

The MP3 export/bounce option in Logic use Quicktime to convert if I'm not mistaken. Which in turn uses the Fraunhofer codec.
For converting WAV to MP3 with LAME on my Mac I use Max or iTunes-LAME.
