hi, i'm no expert on midi routing.
right now what i have is 2 controllers, maudio keyboard and uc33e. both are hooked up to a midi matrix, or w/e im not sure what it's called. anyway, this config works fine except i can only use one controller at a time.
my question is, can i route my keyboard through the UC33 and then into my interface? so, keyboard out>uc in>uc out>interface in...that way i could use both controllers at the same time.
does that make sense? the only reason i havnt tried to do this is because i dont wanna with my matrix configuration and tripping through the sea of wires behind my desk, it's messy and if i tried to re-plug everything back in it would be a HUGE pain in the ass.
thanks. |

Are you using hardware synths that need to be controlled with it?
Because both have usb midi outputs.. Why don't you use these instead of routing them into your midi controller. That way you'll be able to see "uc33e" instead of midi input #914 in your software.
I think the roland mc505 could route it's midi in information to its midi outs (thus using it as midi thru AND out) but i'm not aware of other midi eq that can do this trick. |

Why are you using your midi patcher?
You should just connect your 2 midi controllers through USB on your computer. In your software you activate these 2 midi ports and you can use them both together. Put your midi patcher on ebay , that's only useful if you own several hardware synths.
End of story :) |
