I definitely got a pair for my birthday the Summer after 3rd grade and as soon as I put them on I turned into a basketball phenom, scoring a triple double in every game I played.
Sadly I wore them out rather quickly and my parents refused to buy me another pair because I'd "Just break them again."
I probably would have gone to the NBA if I'd just been responsible about my shoes. |

What did the basketball on the tongue actually do when you pressed it? I'll go ahead and assume there was some sort of intricate flubber release system built inside. |

It pumped up little air pockets in the shoe and supposedly made it fit better.
Also, turned white kids everywhere black as night. |
