I had a good time, but I made sure that I didn't take any crap at the show.
All ages; there were a lot of young people completely out of their mind on a Monday night.
Completely packed. There was no room to dance on the floor, and most of the 21+ area in the bar was full too.
Way too much moshing. I know it's 'dnb', but {sigh}.
Guns N Bombs wasn't anything interesting for me; way too hard. But as an opener, he was fine and he did get the crowd in the right mood.
Pendulum were good; played a bit longer set than Coachella. Almost the same track order though.
The sound wasn't that good at all (completely spoiled by Avalon/Vanguard now). The highs were completely muffled and almost unlistenable.
Their light show was the same as Coachella which is definitely thumbs-up. (Better than Cut/Copy & The Presets from last week).
But yes, they are moving away from dnb to a much more pop/rock sound. It's not bad, but it makes it more approachable. It's not really for me, though. |

| Thanks for that. I was considering going, but all-ages killed it for me. What a shame because the Mayan is such a cool venue too. |

| Yah, I keep saying no more all-ages shows, and I've been to 3 this year. |

| If you were young and into moshing this show would be right up your alley. I thought it was worth the ticket. Unbelievably, a lot of the Coachella people were recognizing each other. Enjoyed the show, enjoyed the pit... I would talk smack about the youngsters, but that would have been me a few years ago. Especially enjoyed the bit of sound when Swire (I believe) gave the vocoder a little extra time on "The Other Side" when he says "through the gates of hell" |
