no idea. some friends got it last year. asked me if i wanted in this year. normally i get the same condo every year, but my usual peeps are probably not going this year.. so I'm probably going to get in on the house.
another option.. get like 10 people in on a mansion. |

That's my idea for this one... gotta wait a bit longer before I commit to going... but if there's a TOTA house in the works... keep me in the loop.
I go every 3 years & 09 is right on schedule. |

| If I go this year (which is likely a big 'if') it will only be for the length of a long weekend. |

The Space F*ck you pass was unlimited everything. They released it just a couple of weeks before the conference. You got a bouncers number to beat the line and unlimited drinks at any event. It got you into any of the Space affliates.
It will be interesting to see if they do it again this year. |
line bypass, alcohol, and, cover to parties?
how does one get their hands on this magical pass you speak of??? |

It's not too early to start planning. Make sure you have your hotel in site. Do research, as there are plenty of private appartments/rooms being rented out. Just don't wait too long. Should have your accomodation set by January. Plan on spending a minimum of $200 per room/night if you want something decent. It is a good idea to stay on South Beach as thats where most of the daytime/night time activities take place.
For other events and clubs it is also wise to get tickets early. Most clubs will get packed, and the price goes exponentially as the night progresses. From $20 getting tickets day or week before, to $80 if you arrive after 10pm. The Nikki beach party was very dissapointing as the sound system was very bad, and the atmosphere was not very good. Cherry beach parties are way better, so if you plan on going to Nikki for whatever reason, get the cheap tickets early. Hopefully you like the VIP atmosphere as most of the places are geared towards splitting the clubs into areas for sitting and small dance floors. I thought it was more or less a mood killer, but I guess some people like that. Cameo is one of the nicer clubs I've seen, so it might be worth checking out.
I also flew into Ft. Lauderdale and rented a car. I was surprised, but traffic was not bad and parking was plentiful and not very expensive throughout the weekend. If there are a bunch of you, its not a bad idea as it gives you the freedom to go between the beach and downtown Miami whenever you want.
And if it is your first WMC, then I think it is worth going to the Ultra Music Festival as it is a big outdoor place with a lot of talent in the same night. Not something you get to experience around here a lot, aside from WEMF which does not have nearly the same amount of people. |

wheres a good spot to look for private accomodations?!
im planning on returning this year. I feel as though I need to do it up at least once without something ing up / ruining my trip (ie. the worst sunburn of my life 2 days into my trip in 2004 and being bitten by a portugese man o war in 2007) :nervous: |

Last year I stayed around 40th and Collins in a hotel and man was it a great idea. The rooms around there were cheap and the best part is that the cabs to say 10th and Collins were only $10.
I would rather pay $20 round trip for a cab instead of paying $150+ per night to be in main strip of hotels.
It's great for hiding from everyone when you want to sleep but your friends keep crashing your room to keep the party going. |
