I was reading Tweaks studio recommendation and one of the things listen is the "Tascam FW1082 Firewire DAW Controller". It comes with Cubase LE so does this mean it will also work with Cubase 4. Also, will it work with other DAWs such as Ableton or Sonar? I'm staying away from FL studio as I hear it doesn't cope well with lots of equipment. Anyway, what are your opinions on this? Would this be capable of doing the exact same thing as a standard firewire audio interface?

Little bit of advice:
1) Don't feel like you need to purchase whatever people recommend/rave about. Just start with the basics until YOU know what YOU need.
2) Keep your various setup questions in the one thread rather than a new thread for every question you have.
