It does look puny, I admit that, but it´s great actually! I have the 1.83ghz core duo version, and it works great for me.
It scores 2335 on geekbench, and here is the results, if you´re interested in comparing it with something else.
Integer: 2003
Floating point:3284
Memory: 1676
Stream: 1496
I did this while having firefox open, but I guess it doesn´t matter much. :) |

I just bought a new macbook, a couple days before the new ones came out:
got a white 2.4ghz, 2g ram, upgraded to 250gb HD, so i can start using logic, for obvious reasons!! (and as i've been using ableton on a really slow pc and it's annoying me) :)
so then the new macbooks came out, and they cancelled my order without telling me, and replaced it with a "new" macbook, the 2.0ghz, 1gb ram, 120gb hd one... :eyes: :conf: :whip:
luckily i found out before they sent it!!
i raged hard, and got the original order back, still hasn't arrived tho
point being, i'm extremely glad i got one of the old ones: can't believe what they've done with the new ones: was just an excuse to up the prices, and cut the extras that WERE standard... no FW!?! WTF?
i'm also in Australia: jobs put up the prices here 15% because of our fluctuating dollar: then of course the prices of the new, but same macbooks were raised as well
i saved $700au getting the old one, AND got a better comp... lol
sorry for the rant, they really pissed me off... |

| why didnt u want the new one? it has better screendriver as i understood it? is realy FW that important (ofcourse it is if u have firewire soundcard tho). other than that it looks to be alot better than previous imo. |

i was just looking for something with maximum bang for my minimal buck, hence went for the older one with higher and easier-to-upgrade ram, faster CPU (tho the frontbuss is slower :( ) and a much bigger HD...
i was pretty offended they tried to cut me back on specs without letting me know as well :p
newer doesn't always mean better...
will be getting a echo audiofire AI soon as well, so need the firewire, and prefer it :)
edit: i also just felt like having a good rage over the delays from apple :p |

I can see some people who aren't typists staring at their keyboard for a very, very long time. |

| actualy after a closer look i see that the N has replaced B and another M has replaced the old position of N. |

| I was kicking around the idea of getting a new macbook, but after hearing about all the things it doesn't have, I might just sell mine and get a refurbed macbook pro. They've got a 15" one on there for $1349 with 2 gigs of RAM and a 2.4ghz core2duo. And by the looks of it I may be able to sell my macbook for 1200. \o/ |

i just dont see what u mean "all the things it doesnt have" its just the firewire as i see it. u get the 2GB 2,4GHz 13" non-pro at a ok price?
btw has anyone formated a mac for complete new install before? is it alot of work or is it as easy as with windows? |
