I know that Tiesto won the year that they gave it to Paul. I am not sure about last year with Armin, but it wouldn't surprise me. Nobody is more popular than Tiesto. It's a joke that anyone other than him would be #1.
You are right about DJ Mag shunning Tiesto. When he didn't show up a few years back for the official Top 100 party, the editor Lesley screamed in front of a bunch of people "He will NEVER be #1 again in my poll".
And he wasn't.
Let's see if they are still holding the grudge against Tiesto this year. |

Heh. Even if this is true, it's far too late for DJMag to try to regain some scene credibility. But that's they price they paid for only pandering to the trance fanbase for so many years. |
