LOL @ stop contributing... do the exact opposite.

Most stocks are discounted incredibly right now, many 75% off their 52-week highs. If your local mall had a 75% OFF everything sale, then there would be a line out the door.

Some wise statements from buffett:

"Be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful. And most certainly, fear is now widespread, gripping even seasoned investors."

Cash is trash. "Today people who hold cash equivalents feel comfortable," he writes. "They shouldn't. They have opted for a terrible long-term asset, one that pays virtually nothing and is certain to depreciate in value."

Roll your 401K's into either a Roth IRA, or a 3 YearCD until we gout out of this mess, then you can do one of two things.
1) put it back into a 401k with a lump sum
or
2) realize a Roth IRA will return about the same dividends, and not have the same risk to return ration.

This is such bad advice. Leave it into a 401k. Buy MORE shares (up your contributions too!) so that the LONG TERM (the intent of the 401k!!!!!) will pay off. Unless you need money in the next 5 years, don't worry about the losses.

That is always a nice surprise, but going from $5 to $10 is not much of an increase. You should stop being a cheap ass and do like 10x that!

but yeah, i agree with the general consensus. this is a buyer's market. much like how the real estate market is becoming.

this could be misleading....

if you have contributed NOTHING over the last 6 months and it has doubled, i want to know what its investing in!(100% return!)

If you started 1 year ago and in the last 6 months you put in the same amount as the first 6 months then you had a 0% return but no loss. which would be good too
