You all know the situation. Here you are trying the best damn you can on the decks. Playing that new you just picked up and the dancefloor goes NUMB.
First I'm sure you're like "WHAT THE ! I was sure this was going to work out!"
But no problem. You got that sure-fire backup in the case somewhere. Those two or three good ass tracks that will get the dancefloor bumping no matte the situation. They are your back up plan and they haven't failed you yet...
So... what are they? |

It really depends upon the track that wasn't working, where I am in the set, and what I planned to do.
As tempting as it is to just throw on a crowd pleaser that will bring everything back to life, I'm more concerned with it fitting with what I already have going on.
It's also not always a one-track save, as it may take several tracks to regain the momentum. |

well that's a given (at least hopefully) that you won't be an and just flip the switch.

It's not always the same structural goal, and I really couldn't tell you until I'm actually playing.
All I can say is that if something isn't working at a particular moment during a set, I'll throw something on that further accentuates whatever mood and theme I've got going on. It might just be a temporary hiccup, in which case I can just keep the ball rolling and go with the next track I planned to put on anyway, or I might need to play something that changes things up somewhat.
If I'm loosing ground during the early stages, it's easy to get nervous and throw on some of the gems I'm saving for later, but patience and perseverance pays off. |

well that was just sarcasm.
honestly i just want to expand my catalog. i figure most of the tunes that people mention will be the "creme de la creme" of the particular genre they play - which is always a good way to either expand or start off on that particular thing. |

Livio & Roby- Monochrome (Reprise)
Juergen Paape- Noord
Extrawelt- Schmedding
Christian Smith & John Selway- Total Departure (Cirez D remix)
-That's one of those tracks that, if the time is right, is almost sure to get things moving.

nice. checking these out now. LOVE me some Selway. Extrawelt usually doesn't disappoint and Cirez D is a hit. |
