How do you explain the fact that hundreds of years ago the people you call "children" held stable jobs, bought their own houses, and married with few problems? |

| It might have some small effect, but I think more systemic changes to the way children are raised would be necessary to realize the kind of difference you seem to have in mind (i.e. the historical comparison.) |

True.
I think the fact that teens are penned off into a little world where they are around people the exact same age for the vast majority of the time and almost nothing they do (whether positive or negative) seems to have any real consequences is one reason they act so childish and irresponsible for so long. |
