Now I'm confused. Why would I not be interested? I find Rorty fascinating, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on a book of his :conf:
(I'm dead serious, by the way) |

Ah - to be honest, quite the opposite. I've felt a level of clarity of thought since I've graduated that feels, I don't know, more "complete" than I did while I was still in school, but it seems to have arisen at a time where other aspects of my life have become more hectic - so I guess maybe it's just easier for me to focus now that it's as a leisure/relaxation activity as opposed to school work.
Clearly I can still ramble like a good philosophy major. :p |

What's really irreplaceable is the sniveling sense of inflated intellectualism that you find with first year philosophy students.
You know, the 'I stumped a bunch of kids on my high school debate team, now I can't wait to stump the teacher' attitude.
An age of innocence, I tell ya. |

Cool, so at least one person is interested.
It felt kind of pointless to be writing something that thorough while being unsure whether anyone at all would read the final result.

I was one of those. I think I may mention that phenomenon somewhere in the review... |

I will definitely keep an eye out - I glanced it just now while having some breakfast and coffee, but will be more interested once it's moved just a little further beyond the background on Rorty stage.
Definitely keep me posted. :)

God bless them. Teaching them last Summer was one of the best experiences of my life.
Kids who come to college dying to be philosophy majors tend have quite the inflated ego. :stongue: |

Think about the concepts you use and the way you live, with a view to improving both. |

What is it that you study? Science, isn't it? Guess where science would be without philosophy? |

I'm looking forward to hearing all about your philosophy as to why philosophy is dumb.
See, this is one of those cheap zingers those young philosophy majors like to use, but I'm still going with it. |
