Wow. I just popped in to have a look around and I have to say.. I'm amazed!
It's pretty safe to say Joel is the rightful clear choice for most notable person in dance music this past year. It doesn't look like there's anyone else holding a candle to the amount of obsession there is on here for him. If Joel knows anything I'm sure he knows that this amount of obsession, animousity, jealousy, & resentment is undeniable proof that he's done a brilliant job of succeeding and in a much quicker time than people are ready to accept lol.
I mean let's be realistic here for a moment. Joel swept the Beatport awards by miles, is touring the world, has 14 dates booked in Nov alone as of his myspace right now (guessing somewhere between $6k-10k per each.. feeling like doing that math lol?) and all this from a guy who no one heard of before Feb of last year. Anyone who thinks he's going to be the least bit heartbroken over any amount of slagging on here should take a reality check. Funny thing is he actually takes time to respond a lot of the time despite despite how useless it is.. but it keeps him & you entertained. Let's face it, there's only one winner in the Deadmau5 vs TA battle.. and I'm guessing it's the one making somewhere in the ballpark of $60-100k next month.
Only an idiot can say he's not good at what he does, or is a ty producer.. because if he's come from nothing and got himself to that point that arguement is out the window and it's just a case of you not liking him.
So anyways, the groundwork for his success was gimmicky for sure.. yeah we all know how many of his tracks had 'that' sound, but also the majority of you probably have a few favs of his in there as well.
If any of you have serious aspirations in the music industry look at him as an inspiration, cause to pull that off in a yr and a half is unprecedented. And no by inspiration I don't mean regurgitate his sound the best you ing can.
Props Joel. Hate some of your tracks, love some of your tracks. You're killin it though and you're Canadian.

All the clowns going out of their way to defend deadmau5 always go on about how much money he's making, how many dates he's been booked for and how he won the prestigous beatport awards. Who the cares, seriously?
Personally i'm more intrested in music and such. |

lol.. and who the are you? Face it. It's all true like it or not. Best producer around? No. My fav producer around? No. Have I bothered to go out for his shows once yet despite being guestlisted? No. I will next month to see how he is live these days though. Assume he's probably upped his game a bit thru practice & touring.
This forum though.. wow.. I barely see mention of Tiesto or Armin in the midst of Mau5mania hahaha.

Agreed, more Armin hate threads needed, it's pretty sad if Deadmau5 is the only one getting attention.
I think both Joel and TA users benefit, great for a laugh really. Haters enjoy hating, Joel boosts his ego, and lurkers get a top laugh (when he's active in a thread anyway). |

thats b/c tiesto and AVB dont run their mouths in public, therefore dont recieve as much of a public bashing. |
