Seems kinda like a funny event. You get your 'ticket' through text message, and its a free event. Once on the island you are then told where to go. The event starts at 8, so i wonder how long it will go considering the last ferry back to the mainland is at 11pm.
I think I may go just to see whats up. Worst case, i waste $6.50 on a ferry ticket. |

I saw an ad for this in NOW Magazine. It might be held at one of the airport hangars.
For those who may recall, this isn't the first time an event like this has been held on the island (aside from Vfest). Mecca Festival and Bjork anyone?

I was thinking a hanger would be a cool venue, and the only place realistic at this time of year.
Any idea what time those other events went till? |

don't recall anything ever going past 11 pm, especially with the ferry schedule as you mentioned and the noise bylaws in effect

I REALLY want to check this out
But I have class till 9 so by the time I go to the dock it would be nearly 10...
Do you need to be there around 8 for this?
Also the FB invite says it goes till 1am... but if the ferry leaves at 11

Perhaps the event organizers arranged for a special one? That would make sense for them. |

I asked Adam Gill of Embrace productions, as he gave me 'gl', about it, and got no response back.
It would certainly suck to get stuck on the island if you miss the last ferry! |

Fido Jet Session, Fido Solutions Inc.

3.(a) A random draw by a representative of the Contest Sponsor or an independent agency will be made from all entries received at 11:00pm on October 23rd 2008 at Hangar One, Toronto City Centre Airport, Toronto, ON, M5V 1A1. Selected entrants will be contacted by text message and/or by telephone call at the wireless number used to enter the contest or at the number provided on the paper entry ballot.
(b) If a selected entrant cannot be contacted one hour following the first attempt to contact the entrant, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question, declines the prize, or fails to return a Release of liability and acknowledgment form as specified by the Contest Sponsor, Contest Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to select another entrant or to cancel the prize.

I just got a message from Adam, and it says that the show goes till 1am, and the ferry runs till 2am. hmmm...It obviously does not say that on the Toronto Island Ferry site.
Oh well.
If you are going, I think you have to get your ticket by today or tomorrow. So just get one even if you are unsure about coming. |
