Bring on Carolina....
The red wings completely dominated the game tonight. Although I love nailbitter hockey, and close games, because I am such a fan of the wings, I dont think I could have taken a close game, so im glad they were able to blow out in the first period.
All I can say is that they have peaked at the right time, and have all kinds of momentum going into the finals. Im happy that Hasek got the 5th (and record) shutout tonight, that way it wont be an issue in the finals, and they can focus completely on winning the cup.
I LOVE HOCKEY. |

| we will see about that. don't forget the devils who plays the same style (neutral zone trap) destroyed the red wings in 4 back in 1995. this will be interesting. |

Back in 95 the trap was relatively new, and since then many, if not all teams, have adopted some kind of trap. The Red Wings use the left wing lock for example. I think they have the talent to overcome the trap style defence of Carolina, and have sufficient defence to stop Bataglia, Francis Brindamour and Cole.
Irbe will have to stand on his head if the canes hope to have a chance.
Either way, Im not going to underestimate the canes, they defeated several good teams along the way, and will be tough to beat. |
