I fear for the coming generations. Social networking sites further enmesh kids in the sort of present-oriented, narcissistic, mutual admiration societies that groups of adolescents naturally form in any environment. They will be ignorant and intellectually shallow, yet firmly convinced that their superficial opinions and meager knowledge are of high worth, since they have spent so much time blocking out any influences that might convince them otherwise.
