A couple things I've seen so far are the Yamaha QY100 and MPC500. The Yamaha might be more of what I'm looking for, but I'll have to demo one of these at a Guitar Center or something. Something else I saw was the DStep sequencer for the Nintendo DS, but I can't tell if it load up say like a generic piano or synth and program an actual melody.
