Hey.
i have been trying very long to get out similar bass sound like martin roth has. i am wondering what kind of vst-syntethizer he uses? how can i get those fat-ass sounds? i've been working on sylenth and other similar tools but i can't get even close. any advice?
I use ableton live.
here is youtube links for example

Sean Walsh
There's a bass preset in ableton's operator that sounds pretty much exactly like the second one. The tricky part is getting it to sit well with your kick -- usually requires some careful compression and EQ'ing.

ah the mind-x bassline is so sick, I love it. Predator's preset "known digi" setting can get pretty close with the right drive, ensemble, and eq settings. In the same breathe as Sean, it's counter-intuitive for a lot of new producers to think one of the biggest factors in having a good bass is the Kick, but it really is. Creating the bass after tuning my kick (and adjusting them to each other) is the way i usually make my basslines.

Ahh the roth mix of sensation seekers, such an awesome track, it's always on my mp3 player

yes, kick and bassline interaction is the key. the bassline itself is a very simple two osc saw/square sound.

Yeah! The kick is very important in those tracks.

Hard punchy kicksample with small decay, little bit compressor and eq is the main key.

Have to give a shot with predator to get the sensation seeker bass.

Maybe is it just compressor and eq question to get similar bass.
