It's not accurate. DJmag unfairly placed them there. Well.. I cant speak for Dan, but I heard some really unfair things about what djmag told CL. I'm confirming with him this weekend. |

Hold on a minute... Eric Prydz #21 and Erick Morillo #79 and Infected mushrooms number 10??????????????????????????????????? lolll |
This poll reflects many different sounds from many different genres. Prydz and Morillo appeal to a different demo than IM (apparent in IM's TA ranking of 54...Tranceaddict isn't so Psy-happy). I think that world-wide, IM is received by more populations than Morillo perhaps. Just my opinion, and you are entitled to yours. |

Once again this is a popularity/promotion poll. No science involved.
Once again who the cares? The results means nothing.
Who reads DJ magazine anyway? Not I.

Very true. But these DJs get booked off these results. It's a shame. Some of the sickest DJs you see towards the bottom probably won't even make it out to the US or at least California :( :(
Question though?? No Sied Van Riel at all in the top 150?? Wasn't that guy like break through DJ this past year. Interesting! |

| To Randy S and all the other TA's on here who didn't make it, keep up the great work and better luck next year. And yea the polls shoudnt be looked at when getting booked, but it is very much the case and so it is what it is and everyone does strive to get high on the list for that reason alone. It never hurts to be high on a list like this |

what I am saying is that they were obviously not being included in the top 100. putting them at those numbers is just a bitch slap by the mag.
dj mag is just trying to make a lame point that much is obvious. |

if a dj at the bottom of the poll doesn't make it to california, it has nothing to do with the poll itself. if he has the desire to be here and the demand to make the promoter money after flight-hotel-fee-visa, then it's up to the promoter to have the vision to book him.

why not? it's a popularity contest. popular djs rake in more money. it's a business.
people make the mistake of attaching any more relevance to this poll beyond popularity amongst dj mag patrons. |

who gives a is my point. if they take a huge hit to their booking fees because of this, then their agents blow ass since both were able to make money at all their parties to this point at their current rate. and if it doesn't affect their booking fees, then i say again: who gives a ???? |

| I'm shocked that some of the dj's in the top 30 are even still popular enough to get damn votes...and then they're that ing high up on the list...wow. |

Yeah it amazes me how peeps blame djmag for the results when all they do is count our votes.
That said, any major DJ realizes that in the end this poll matters more to the trance DJs. Don't believe me? Then go ask all kinds of DJs on the list. It's the one constant thing I have heard over time. The poll is more relevant to booking opportunities for trance djs....not so much house. Trance DJs admit it...at least behind closed doors. It's important to them....even to those who can't really stand how the poll is done. Most actually don't like it, but they can't ignore its relevance. And house DJs say it's not nearly as important for them and will say it's more for the trance DJs. You don't like it, fine. Think it doesn't mean anything? Then continue lying to yourself. It won't affect who is your fav or your tastes I am sure, but it's very very important to the (trance) sce
ne as it can have an effect on who clubs may be willing to book and how often. thus, the poll does mean something.
BTW, I think this list is accurate....I have my reasons. But hey, it could be wrong.
Glad top see Markus continue his climb. I think SvD could be higher if he did more touring in North America. He needs to go to the major markets more as his rep builds. Saying every 4-6 months if possible. He hits some cities regularly, but not enough of them. North America tends to provide the most votes.
Now my big issue with the polls is the name. Top implies a quality factor to most people. But it's a popularity poll. We know this, but the regular folks out there don't. Just wish they would change TOP to something else or rename it. And it would be cool if there was a territory breakdown to see how things fall in place between diff continents/countries. |
