that's about how i feel with all the poll stuff. I knew it was a joke, but i didn't realize until now how much of a joke it really is. i have also come to the conclusion that it's a popularity contest and regardless of producing skills or mixing skills it's about who is best known. reactions like this happen every year, and i guess people just forget about the year before because it's been so long. I'm also surprised at how Tiesto still stays up there and idk wtf is with Guetta and Infected Mushroom (is there a psy-trance movement i'm not aware of?).
anyway, you all will forget about it in a week or less anyway. |

| I'm usually #8 or #7. I boycotted the poll this year. |

I personally think that all music has gone down hill starting about middle of 2006.
track productions are not the same to me. people who are making tracks now are using LOTS of sweeps to mnake a track seem full IMO. I listen to some dets from back in 2003 to 2005 and songs were so much better and like Matt said a dj could take you on that journey and i believe songs back ten set you up to be able to be taken on that journey. I feel songs now are flat and and not able to take you on that journey anymore as is why you are seeing lots more effects used these days.
for an instance:
Some dj's like Oakenfold aand Armin and a few other progressive dj's used to require a A&H mixer in their rider. They used those because of the sound quality they have and didn't care that the mixer didn't have effects built in it.
Now almost every dj out there requires a DJM-800 or a DJM-1000 with an efx-1000. Hint everything is about effx now. I have even had Dj's tell me that they would rather use another mixer with better sound quality but can be to much of a pain to set up an effx unit to it.
So i cunclude that if songs were produced with idea of taking you on a journey still that we would still see some of those sets around but there NOT. |

| I'm glad the only effect I use while DJing is acting like turning EQ knobs require massive strength. |

You need to dig harder my friend. I think all of my favorite DJs have Xones in their riders no FX units necessary. |

| I heard that Carlos Pereira guy requires full body massages with "happy endings" in his rider. |
