NuJazz Festival and Fusicology Toronto are stoked to present the highly anticipated encore performance of the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble! Eight members of this brass & percussion band are sons of the late great jazz trumpeter Phil Cohran, formerly of Sun Ra Arkestra and a founder of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. The members have been immersed in this culture and playing together their entire lives; combining the AACM's collective approach with a contemporary hip-hop vibe that speaks to its own generation, resulting in one of the most compelling live music experiences of our time. Hypnotic Brass has performed with Erykah Badu, Maxwell, Mos Def and Jay Z.

King Sunshine is 9 musicians transformed into one live DJ -- illuminating disco roots and dropping inflections of funk and dance rhythms, reinventing house music and driving the whole fusion over the red line.

Footprints is a 4 person artist, promotions & deejay collective who've for the past 7 years been bringing a unique poly-rhythmic party rocking mix of afrobeat, funk, soul, jazz and more to the Toronto underground.
