I failed to make it out to this despite planning on it (although I ended up having a good time with what I did).
So after the Beyer party a couple weeks back and this party I figured some of you might be interested in this party.
Berghain - The Advent (Live), Adam Beyer, Carl Lekebusch, Joel Mull, Kyle Geiger
Panorama Bar - Tony Rohr (Live), Par Grindvik, Patrick Skoog, Alexi Delano, Nihad Tule
At ing Berghain!!

Nice reviews! I actually had a feeling that this would be the party of the night last night, but just wasn't in the right head space for techno. It makes me happy to read that you all had a great time, especially the ones who drove an hour or two into town.
I'm surprised that it wasn't more packed, especially on Halloween. I think that there were just too many competing events.
Jay, reread your post, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. :p |

droools! I love the advent, the last set from Cari Lekebusch in the teckno thread is nutes. Rohr rocks and Delano can bring it on!
Sick lineup! |

I thought everything was very well put together. The lineup didnt disappoint. The sound was bang on. The party was just a bust and needed some more party animals (There were times when id look around and it was nothing but two-steppers......YAWN)
I ing love tony rohr! hes always been my diamond in the rough. And im so excited to find out some of his latest tunes that he dropped. Totally had me flying once again! Consistently kicking ......thats what he does.
The FW party was better. but the music was almost at par. Was great to see everyone! |

better? |
Yes, much! I couldn't tell if you were talking about an event that was coming up or had already happened...
Unfortunately I think Berlin might be *slightly* out of my price range for the moment. :p |

|
LOL ;)
Dude, all this post excitement of yours is making me smile. Love it Jems! It almost makes me feel like it was as great as you say.

Agree with all these points for sure! I had an alright time at the Opera House party but had a better time at the Basement! (Delano was spinning btw!)
- sound: was extremely loud at the beginning of the night, it was killing my ears, got turned down later on but was really inconsistent I felt, some times there was like no bass, other times it was fine. The 'acoustics' of that place just arent made for techno.
|
Hmm I guess I wasn't the only one then. Yea, kudos on the sound comment. The sound does not do any justice for techno in there.
If I wasn't so baked-tired would of hit Basement for sure. Good to hear it was a good afterparty. That place is my fav for techno events.

Oh and Cribby, I never got to walk the plank like you promised, what's up with that??? :p |
A promise? It was supposed to be a threat! I failed at making anyone walk the plank but myself...but don't worry, you will definately be making a splash! :thepirate

AWESOME night at Opera House.
Some how we managed to be the first people at Opera House. Thanks to James Teej we all got in the back door (free).
All of the dj's were rocking in there own way.... Delano played awesome for the last 1/2 hour. Then Tony came on and picked it up 10
notches... I gave in to all the text messages to go to zone during Tony's set.
It was great to see all the techno-addict TA's out.
The place could have been busier thou????
P.S. Zone was  > MENTAL > SUPER PACKED > ALL DJ's BROUGHT A GAME!!! |

overall good times
i loved the Opera house Venue for techno, reminded me of Metropolis in Montreal, the sound wasnt top notch, but i think it had more to do with the venue acoustics than anything else. Also wish there was more ppl, couse the vibe was lacking a bit at times.
The music was dope, got there just after 12 and Jamie Kidd was already pounding it
Rohr was my fave from the 3 headliners, he was the most consistent and really build up his set (plus he was a techno pirate <3 hehe)
i feel really bad for Dietrich , im sure it was some equipment probs but he kept faking up on one his first track and this kinda killed the vibe
i wish each dj got a longer slot, felt like musically overall there wasnt really a flow
good meeting some new TA's :thepirate |

Yeah, it wasnt that anything necessarily went wrong this night, it was more just an overall lack of a good vibe.... I blame it on the venue! I think I would have had a much better time if it would have been at footwork or something.
Also, I felt bad for Dietrich too. He got screwed over with the set time too.... He went on like slightly before 4, and he was really suprised when the opera house sound tech told him he only has 1 song left @ like 4:25. Plus the technical difficulties with the record skipping didnt help at all. He probably felt robbed having to come all the way up to Toronto for that set.... |
