Ending on the first hour, would definitely be a little awkward. Well, whatever you've listened to so far, I'm glad you were able to appreciate the tracks you'd heard in it. Thanks again for listening. :p

Oh no, I listened to the whole thing, but I thought it was an hour long until it hit an hour and I was still listening. lol. :) It just screwed up my perspective a bit.

I just finished listening to your set Chris, and once again I'm liking it very much.

Strong points, as usual are your track selection and your tight mixing. You keep getting better and better at the mixing, IMO. Also, I think the track selection was a lot more diverse than on other occasions and shows off your great and diverse taste in music.

On the other hand, I thought the flow of the set was not very constant but it was by no means a "turn-off". It kinda feels like a SOS set you know, all over the place but somehow...it fits.

I really enjoyed this part of the set:

That new mix of "Moonraker" is awesome and well, you already know how much I love "Naam". In addition to that, I think you used "Naam" in the best way you possibly could. "Moonraker" serves as a great intro for it and then all of a sudden "BOOM!" you drop it and I can totally picture a dancefloor going completely insane at that very instant. My only regret is that you kinda slowed things down a bit after that instead of continue to kill it.

All in all, awesome mix bro. Congratulations on a job well done.

Just gave it a listen.

The set is a tad more ADD than usual from you, but that's ok. Sometimes too consistent a sound is a bad thing, so with that in mind I enjoyed the small variations between genres.

A few tracks however, I just didn't think fit...

X-Press 2 - Muzik Xpress (Skylark Remix)

Just not consistent with the mix IMO.

And the Trentmoller remix of Go is just too explosive to not end with. Everything sounds boring after that track.

Other than that, I think it's pretty clear you know what you're doing. NO reason not to go out and get yourself a gig bro.

Guys, thanks so much for the kind words and honest reviews. I really do appreciate it! I will definately take these words into consideration for future mixes. This is my first recorded mix over 2 hours, and I had probably 4 hours worth of tracks that I really wanted to use. I just had to trim the fat somewhere, or this mix would be even more all over the place, lol.

I'm glad you guys were still able to enjoy it, even though it didn't pan out exactly the way it should have.

Thanks again for listening fella's. :)

Chris,

Did you rip off Unknown - Unknown from a Desyn set? Still no ID on that one huh? You must really like that track...

Sorry bro, I've been asked to remain tight-lipped about that one.

The issue I was running into after Naam, was that that track is such a monster, that I've got nothing in my arsenal really that lives upto it (IMO). So the only place to go with the tracks that I've aquired was of less energy. Also, that track, is difficult to transition out of because it holds that airy synth until the end, making a very abrupt end to the track. So a complete change of melody, I thought was in order to make that transistion pleasurable to the ears (which I hope I atleast accomplished that part). The Desyn edit is complete bliss to my ears, so I was determined to use it in this mix, no matter the consequences it may have placed on the mix as a whole. So far, the Paul Keeley remix is my TOTY, and the added melody Desyn added to it, really completes it.

I'm glad you saw that transistion for what it was, coming out of Moonraker. That was the point with that tracks placement, and I'm glad that message carried over to the listener.

Thanks again for listening, bro. I really do appreciate it. :)

i am not doing my usual track by track review because this is just way ing long. but way ing AWESOME!

your strength is track selection. it's been mentioned before and i'll say it again - i don't think you were assed about creating any type of flow or build and just played your heart out. and god bless you sometimes it worked and sometimes it was like "ahh it onto something else now".

parts i liked and thought were solid:

03. Kate Simko - Gamelan
04. Gabe - Amnesia

07. Miss Nine - Nevertheless (Eelke Kleijn Remix)
08. In Deep We Trust - The Intro (Spirit Chaser Remix)
09. Xplore - Time Travel
10. Unknown - Unknown

15. Alexander Konig - Basic Melody (Shur-I-Kan Remix)
16. Weekender - Route 1
17. Supaflava - Time In Motion (Andro Electro Dub / Ricky Ryan Edit)

23. Tube & Berger Feat. Vanity - Funky (Ben Macklin Remix)
24. Yves Larock - Back To The Old

the other stuff can come and go (though great songs individually).

this is a great "live" sound. if you played all this at the club i'd probably drink a ton and do a lot of drugs. then piss myself right around Trentemoller's Go Remix and off for the rest of the night.

this is staying on the iPod to chill to at work tomorrow and for the next couple of weeks (right next to my Eelke Kleijn podcasts :))

thank for sharing!

edit: the mixing was solid like Obama's win tonight. holla back.

i'm only 47 minutes in and really loving this so far... definitely satisfies my craving for melodic chuggy hands-in-the-air house. :p

will try to leave a more detailed review after i make it all the way through. i've got a few long car rides ahead of me this weekend and i'm sure this will make for great driving music.
