It was an alright night I guess.
The Guest list line was rammed at about midnight I decided to go to the normal entrance where I waited for all of 10 minutes before getting not bad. Got in paid cover, and walked right into the club there was little to no security, I was not checked what so ever! Is that usually the case at MOD club? I would much rather getting checked at least I know that way not anything is getting into the club especially on Halloween. The crowd was completely different then the one at the Guvernment, which was odd did not really like the vibe in there.
WTF was S.O.S. playing …. Completely unexpected, I felt thy went to deep and dark. Yes I know its Halloween … hip hip hoorah … but really all I wanted was some good tunes by S.O.S., so I resorted to being a creepy creepy Satin. I was ready to leave at 3:30 am matt convinced me to stay … so I stayed for another hour and things started to pick up.. had a good time for a while and decided to leave ….
The $50 for SOS on a Boat for the what 2.5 hours was so worth it compared to the $25 at for 4+ hours of SOS at MOD club ….
Crowd 5/10
Music 6/10
Security 0/10
Friends 10/10
THANK YOU everyone I was there without you it probably would have been horrible |

| I went to this party and I must say that there were too different parties in the same night. From 12 - 2:30 it was very busy with pushy people, and the music was mediocre. I expected SOS to play some nice melodic tunes, but instead they were playing more harder hitting tracks with nothing really interesting happening in them, there were a few good tracks in that time period but it was random how they were played. Then after 2:30 the club cleared out and people were dancing and having fun, rather then walking around :whip: . Also the music really improved which made me stay till 4:30, even though I was dead tired. for the last two hours they were playing exactly what I expected.. Sexy, uplifting, progressive, melodic beats.. totally awesome, I just don't understand why they didn't unleash on us from the beginning. |

i was underwhelmed. it sounded pretty generic to me and i was out the door by 2:30. apparently it got better at 4:00ish, but i was long gone by then. i think perhaps my musical tastes have changed too much over the past year for me to enjoy them all that much. meh, whatever. i had a lot of fun anyways, ran into a lot of people and saw a lot of costumes. the music could have been a mix cd playing in the background as far as i'm concerned! i dunno if i'll go to see SOS again --- they haven't impressed me the last two times.
i met some TA's on the patio outside but i can't remember who they were!
ps. if anyone saw me doing my axl rose dancing impersonation on the dancefloor, i truly do apologize. :p |

We got there just after 12 and got in pretty fast. As Geoff said there was zero security I wasnt even ID'd. I have to admit this goes down as the second worst party of the year for me.
When we got in Addy was rocking it. I've only seen him once before (last Halloween at Circa) and he diffently delivered again. He almost made me forget that SOS was late. They were suppose to play a 5 hour set, so I expected to see them come on for twelve, but I think it was just after one by the time they started playing. Normally I wouldnt care... but I guess after them being so late for the cruise I really expected them to be on time.
I gave up going to a techno party to go hear SOS play some FUN music... Instead it was dark and hard but not in a good way. I hated so much of it... I do not know what they were doing, often it sounded like noise to me. They didn't sound like 'one' often I felt like what they were doing was not blending, it was busy and confusing. Everytime I heard something I liked it disappeard as fast as it came.
I was also disappointed because Addy had brought it up to a good level, and they brought it all back time. They were REALLY slow building their set... at 2am I do not want to be listening to warm up tunes. Just around 2:50 when we couldnt take any more it felt it was finally starting to pick up a bit.
It did not sound like I was listening to 3 world class DJs. Mega disappointed.
Mod club itself was OKAY. It was my first time there and I will go again since Halloween always changes a club. I found most people were just standing around or walking around. People were rude and pushy. Not many people were excited...
The sound was 'meh' Some spots sounded good... some spots sounded REALLY bad. Im not sure if I like the layout of the venue for a EDM event, but I will definately give it another go... perhaps this weekend (Shapeshifters)
As always a blast to be with all who was there.

The highlight of the night for me, was watching the dude outside of the patio get punched out by at least 4 different guys, including 2 bouncers..and keep coming back for more..!! WTF was that about??.lol....
"COME GET ME NIGAAAZZZ...!!!
other than that, the night was ok..musically it wasn't as uplifting as I would have liked..SOS started of veeery slow...they did get better 2-3 hours into the set..but by that time, the night became more about friends and chillin on the patio.... |

Had fun b/c of the ppl I was w/. SOS could have made it a great night if they showed up for the whole set & not just 3 to 5.

| Was planning to go to This Is London for Felix..when we got there at 11:30 the line was extremely long so decided not to wait and go to see S.O.S. Got in shortly after we arrived just after midnight and as others have said..There was absolutely no security check.. I thought the the set was pretty bad, no rhythm or flow what so ever. There was a couple of bright spots but for the most part it was pretty lackluster and I was not impressed. Left around 3:30 and I don't think I'd go back there again. |

So I was really hyped for this. After the boat cruise my word for the night was "redemption" - and with all the djs present, full equipment setup and an extended set in place this seemed like it would happen.
Mod Club was busy, even the 2nd floor was open. Lots of costumes too.
The first 3 hours of the set was underwhelming. Not bad by any means but it just felt like a long slow build with darker tunes. Kinda weird since I adore long slow builds (a la Satoshi) but somehow this one didn't work for me.
Then around 4 the music suddenly improved - sexy, funky, bumpy tunes that made me feel that finally, this was the SOS I'd been waiting for all night. I just don't understand why they didn't play like this from the very start. Felt bad for my friends who had left earlier in the night.
Overall, I really want to like SOS all together. I love Demi, really like Desyn and appreciate Omid's production work. And after hearing how amazing they were in Chicago the week before I was expecting a stellar set. Oh well.
I appreciate that they went til 5:30, I needed that extra 1/2 hr of good tunes. |
