The cum shot is used in pornography to give the viewer a sense that actual orgasm is achieved. Most of what you see in porn is fake, and if you knew how the act of copulation actually unfolded on set before editing, you would not find it too sexy. People started to watch a lot of porn in the 80's (many of them teenagers) and it unfortunately made a lot of people think these were normal sexual practices. I for one enjoy it, because it is somewhat of a power trip.
The legend of Peter North is that he can cum on command many times a day. You might not think that the pop shot you saw was big, but keep in mind he probably shot 3 to 4 scenes that same day. ;) |

Maybe, but it is more likely due to both sexes being more equal than in the past. Look at the relationship dynamics of a couple in the 40's and 50's compared to today.
