It's somewhat arguable as to whether there is an "issue" at all, but was it really so much of a problem with "permisiveness" or was there simply too much encouragement so far as Spock-ism and post-industrial competence considered the opportunity of individual rearing?

Lol.

Rearing.

Well, yeah, this is why I kept using "allegedly" and "supposedly" in those paragraphs.

Contrary to popular belief, Dr. Spock actually criticized a lot of parenting "experts" for being "too permissive." Especially in his later career, he was something of a middle-ground guy as far as giving children affection and encouragement, which is why it's weird that he got so much flack.

Well, a number of them feature sex scenes and nudity. Maybe that's it? :conf:

Sexuality and horror violence are inextricable concepts both very deeply rooted in our biology as visually responsive beings. Extremely violent film with the intention of being as gory as possible is in fact not strict horror, but a form of [tentative] pornography, I would say.

"Pornography" being a term which refers to intentionally explicit material intended to elicit a biological response, not necessarily referring to the profanity of a media with regards to its respective culture. Though perhaps attraction to profanity, a "crime" of sorts, is linked to sexuality as well - sharing an attractive dynamic with things generally considered taboo.

Tell me, jenny - do you harbour rape fantasies?
MrJiveBoJingles
Both horror and porn typically involve penetration of the "envelope" of the body, painful in one case and pleasurable in the other.

So you inflict them on others, then?

Both, you idiot. I get raped...I rape someone else...I watch someone get raped, they watch me get raped, gang rape, etc., etc.

God, have you never had a ing rape fantasy? Pfft.
