What do you prefer to put on the 2's and the 4's?
Personally, I prefer snares. I find them to be more fuller, and have a more dirty sound than the claps. |

Depends on what kind of track.
But in general I use more claps. |

Snare 90% of the time
Claps seems to work best at higher BPM. |

Claps tend to sound better to me with effects, and snares tend to sound better to me with less effects. So Depending on the track i use them that way so its abot 50/50 leaning towards snares. |

I record myself banging my fist on my desk and play that in place of a clap. |

Depends on the song style. For trance, it's maybe 50/50, but only a portion of the songs I produce are trance, so I use a lot more snares, rimshots, etc. And, they aren't always on beats 2 and 4. :eyes: |

lately i've been finding myself layering snares and claps together - after proper EQ'ing and level adjustments, the clap would be more dominant i guess, but the snare would give it an overall different dynamic in sound. |

Claps for the top, and snares to fill out the bottom. |
