Well, a few topics for your opinions/comments:

1. Nu NRG live at Orgasmatron
How good is this set?!?! For those of you who dont have it yet i highly recommend it. It's shameless self promotion (they only play their own tracks) but its still banging. Just so much energy throughout the set, looking forward to the up and coming releases form these guys.

2. 2002 So Far
Is it just me, or has 2002 been pretty disappointing so far? There havent been any songs i have really gotten into at all this year. When i look back at the 60 or so songs in last years 'TA track of the year', there was so much more quality. I have found myself continually listening to songs from 99,00,01. I just hope 02 picks up the pace in the second half of the year.

3. For those of you in Adelaide...
Fresh FM is broadcasting Tiesto in the mix( they didnt say where from tho) this Saturday night from 12 onwards, so hope you all listen.

4. Some old tunes i've been listening to:
Moogwai - The Labyrinth (Part 2)
Moogwai - Viola (armin van buuren remix)
Tony Walker - Fields Of Joy (original)
Fire & Ice - Never Ending Melody
Marc Aurel - The Sun (jam x & de leon's dumonde remix)
thewarpbrothers

2. yeah i reckon there are still some alright tracks but nothin i would call real classics.....me listen to 99,00 and 01 mostly too

4. been listening to these tunes all the time can't remember how long now
pvd - out there & back (fav song of all time)
fire & ice - souvenir de chine
tankis & savietto - antea

1) Sorry, no idea what you're talking about.

2) Not too sure how straight-up trance music is faring in 2002, but there are progressive stompers all over the place. Time to jump ship maybe? :D

3) Don't live in Adelaide, but perhaps one of you could record the Tiesto set for all the decent-radio-station-less plebs in Melbourne?

4) Yes, the Moogwai tunes are class, the Fields of Joy is okay (though undeserving of its "classic" status in my opinion) and I haven't heard the other two.

Tremendous stuff then.
stipsy
i really dont know what your talking about with the tracks not being good....you obviously have not seen my collection! :D
Mikrop
just responding to point 2...

Personally, I'm finding some of the releases this year amazing (eg. Airwave - Another Dimension, DJ Tiesto - Lethal Industry). For some reason I feel like I'm starting to relive 2000 (my first year in the proper trance scene). In 2001 there were a few mad trax aswell, but not as many as '00... IMO.

Gotta stop ranting sometimes... i think i'm subconsciously procrastinating exam studies... eheheheheheheheeh....

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH... procrastination... it'll be my downfall...

1) I haven't heard the Nu NRG Live at Orgasmatron set.. but it looks pretty good. I should download it sometime.

2) I believe these are 2002 tracks (although I'm not too sure), but I think they are brilliant anyway: Aquanuts- Deep Sea, Solid Sheep- Club Attack, Mirco De Govia- Epic Monolith, Paul Oakenfold- Southern Sun.

Moogwai - The Labyrinth (Part 2)

That is classic tune! I've been listening to it recently as well.

Mikrop- procrastination is my downfall as well... I've got exams in 4 days and I haven't started doing any work... oh well :happy2:

lol i disappear from these forums for 2 days and suddenly ur all talking about boning sheep :p

yeah that nu-nrg set r0x .. as preferred by 9 out of 10 irritated commuters sitting next to me on the train :D

i agree that this year has been slow to pick up release-wise, try some of these if you're looking for good new trance:

M-Diva - Reachin Out (Instrumental Club Mix)
Matanka - Lost In A Dream (Push Transcendetal Remix)
Dumonde - Godd Music
project medusa vs exor - moonshine (exor mix part 2)

There are a few more, but start with those for now (apologies if they aren't from this year...)

Hoping the producers will start banging out the tracks pretty soon :)
