| His new sound is awful but obviously the general public eats it up. Whatever works right? Bigger than Tiesto? Impossible. He is however the new symbol for our "YouTube" generation as far as EDM is concerned. |

according to pete tong.. its not the 'youtube' generation but rather the 'download' generation!!!
what exactly about his new sound do you not like? and I really don't understand new sound versus old sound... :conf: |

Everything. I will never be a fan of the "electro" sound. Theres simply no rhythm; that is of course according to my ears. I need melodies and sexy harmonics to get my feet moving. I should have clarified what I meant by old sound: Progressive House > new sound: Electro trash at its finest. As previously stated in this thread his latest track emulates Justice' sound almost identically. Not exactly original but like I said, whatever works... and right now any and everything he puts out is working. |

I don't think he has been around long enough to have a new vs old sound....his sound is whatever is selling when he produces the track. |

Calling electro deadmau5's new sound is off imo have you herd any of his productions under BSOD there all electro |

Genre splicing has been so evident since 2005 that what you might call "Progressive House" now could be "Progressive Trance" back then.
I'm not sure what you classify his sound as but to me the general feel will always be "Electro". |
