D-Unity Basement

WOW, First time seeing these guys and was it ever a treat. Not allot of people it seemed but they didn't seem to notice. I haven't heard a beatdown like that since Saeed and Palash in the guv about 6 years ago. Why is tribal a dirty word? They didn't play anything but for 2 hours and nobody was complaining. I would've expected a few more people though. We had three big parties in the city last night and these guys have stuff released on Mark Knights Toolroom comp. They're definitely going to be a big deal.
PurpleHaze
Parties like these are a dime a dozen and holy was it ever satisfying.

Music was better that last year, D-Unity belted out some serious ing drumed out beats....

Techno-tribal towards the end too, was ridiculous how fast paced some tribal can get.....bring me back please

full review coming later...

Wow!! What a great friggin' morning! It was my first time at Basement and it had the perfect ingredients...Tribal, a great Fey reunion and multi-vitamins! I'm definitely going back! Cam Maxwell..banging sound, really enjoyed his set.

D-unity never seems to disappoint! Near the end of their set i was going bonkers, some of the tracks they were throwing out were ridiculous. Lets just say they tossed me around like a garden salad!! I might have mentioned this in another thread but they own my tribal soul!!

a big UHHHHHHHHHH....they definitely....without a question ....TOUCHED IT!!

Although Sasha took almost every last once of energy I had left in me, still managed to get to Basement to check out D-Unity, and my synopsis of the 3 hours I was there….

I needed that.

Cam Maxwell got my feet movin’ the moment I walked in the door. First time seeing him, and I was truly impressed with what I heard. Good lead in job to D-Unity, who came on and kept on jammin’, with a half an hour left of their set, I was spent, but glad we stuck it out till the end. Love the energy these two boys give off to the dance floor. Dj Dancin while in the mix… fun! Tribal to lead into the techy beats… loved. Not a huge crowd... but it was perfect. I couldn't deal with a busy club again.

Great group of people to spend the morning with, dancing our hearts out till we couldn’t dance anymore. Thank you.
:)

This was one jumbo/LARGE party. We hit Cam's pad early Saturday night for some pre-party bday madness... there was more food than godzilla would eat in a week...it was in SANE. We ended up inviting more people just to eat the food, then encouraged them to take it home with them. I'm telling you people, if Cam couldn't eat all that food, you can imagine just how much there was!

We drove around to pick up some ppl prior to heading basement and a few events delayed us missing nearly half of Cam's set (for the love of ba-gok!!) But from the moment we walked in, Cam's set had us dancing to some banging tribal beats mixed with Cam's usual talent for encorporating vocals and tech sounds. This guy has PROPER respect for tribal...one of the few redeeming qualities the guy has. I hear he's producing a tribal set for dance 2 da beat (THIS SATURDAY AT FOOTWORK) for the cd sales. Siiiiiiik.

I was in my tribal army gear, and I quickly spotted the clown army :clown: and fellow trance addicts in tribal gear. Many of whom were at basement for the first time, and finally heard what I had been hyping about in terms of the sound system. I met up with PurpleHaze and Cribby and danced up a storm with them--Cam was killing it. Cam spun at zone last Thursday, and will soon be spinning there selected Sundays--I can't WAIT to see what he does with that crowd. He may have to skip a few YSA (yorkie shaver anonymous) meetings to meet his gigs.

On 9 am, a small crowd had built up and d-unity plugged in their apple laptop running Serato (i think?) and rigged into the two decks with the Allan & Heath mixer (Cam's mixer, i think, since he prefferred it over the Basement's stock mixer).

Let me just say this... NOBODY does tribal like d-unity. Vibe, Entrena, eat your hearts out--these guys pound it out better than ANYONE. So this begs the question...why aren't these boys spinning more? Why aren't they putting out more tribal-tech sets for us? I think it is SIN for them to keep this talent to theirselves. Personally, if I had their abilities, it would be like suddenly having breasts. I seriously wouldn't stop playing with them. That's how it must be for them...they can sit at home, pound out these tribal beats, and it's as satisifying as having b00bs. word. My literary analogies rule.

The dark tribal beats they pounded out while totally getting into it and jumping around behind the decks had us slapping the effing floors. Several times i just sort of stopped, looked at my buddy terry with a WTF  face and he just nodded in happy agreeance. If Cam was fantastic, D-unity was god-like in their musical approach. Primal beats were delivered, and felt it only appropriate to once again thank god that I had ears.

Thanks to everyone who showed up for bday beats...especially one special guy (you know who you are buddy... enjoy the laser-time projector, space-time splitter machine).

A SPECIAL thanks to Cam Maxwell who made personal sacifices to get d-unity to basement and throw a truly amazing party for any tribal lover with a single tribal brain cell or more. You are AMAZING, man. Let's do this again soon...say ... bi-monthly? ;) Just work on getting the restraining order lifted, along with the deportation order. And what's with the court-order against me from coming within 50' of your parot? jeeze. come on.

What's left to say? Ti ti ti ti---bagok!!

Anyone used the 42? I'm thinking of picking one from my friend for $800
d-form
No but I think I paid close to that for the 62 at metro sound. I think it was $899. Can't remember for sure but i know it wasn't more than 1k.

Yeah, it was a Zone 62 that morning. I didn't see the software though sorry...

Thanks everyone, it seems you all had just as much fun as I did on Sun morning. It felt good to play a tribal set again, it had been awhile.
