well, i work at harvey's if that explains it in a few words. i was changing the fryer grease and goddamned if i didn't leave the grease drain valve open like a maggot. seeing that the boiling grease was pouring straight through the valve from the bucket i was pouring it from alarmed me, and i quickly bent down to close the valve.. unfortunately the bucket got rocked and hot hot hot grease splashed up over the bucket and all over my poor arm. i screamed something, possibly a profantiy, and kicked the fryer. 4 hours later, i finally leave the emerg ward with a prescrip for tylenol 3's (yum) and a bandaged arm.

how was your saturday? :tongue3

Sorry to hear that man.

Head on over to your local pharmacy and see if they can give you something for it. If you can get an RX - get some Silverdyne cream. It'll heal that burn in like a week. Not to mention prevent scaring.

My saturday was great. I got to spend time with my girl and we went and saw a movie. I also got to chill with my boys/crew and we had a blast. It brought back good old times taht I've so missed.

Though I almost got hit bt a drunk driver on I75 north, but it made for interesting conversation.

My highschool biology teacher told a story of a girl at Dairy Queen who dropped something in the fryer, and then reached in to grab it. duh... well, needless to say her arm was fried, and they quickly put it in the icecream while the medics came.

I had an experience when I was making fries at a hockey arena, I dropped the salt shaker thingy into the fryer. But remembering that story in bio (well, not really, just common sense duh) I used the tongs to grab it out, not my hand. still got some splashes on my arm, but nothing serious. :D

One of my teachers told me about how his son was making fries at home. He left the room to get something and came back to see the grease was on fire. He picked up the fryer and tried to bring it outside to get it out of the house. The fryer got too hot for him to hold and he dropped it and the grease splashed all over him. He got burnt really bad, the prob with getting burned w/ grease is that your clothes stick right to your skin...they pretty much get burnt on. I hear it's really one of the worst pains on can feel because grease is extremely hot and it doesn't wash off.

Hope you heal well b.s.e. :)

I worked at mcdonalds, and forgot to turn off the heaters to the fry vats once. Ended up starting a fire in the kitchen. I doused the fire with more grease (I know, grease is flamable, but alot of grease is enough to douse flame).

When i was a kid, i was making popcorn by putting veg oil in a pot, and placing kernels inside to pop them (only i forgot the kernels). Got distracted, and went into my basement, and forgot about the veg oil on the stove. I was playing nintendo, when all of a sudden i hear the fire alarm. I went upstairs to 3 feet of fire out of the pot. I grabbed it, and ran to the door. It burnt my thumb, so I put it down, grabbed my hat, and picked it up again, and threw it outside. When i walked back in, there was a black circle burnt on my floor. It sucked.

Hope you feel better soon.

I'm in a quiet self-pittying lonely introspective mood right now listening to some hooverphonic and I thought I'd share with you all some things about my life...

Well I guess not. So peace out, and may you all find what you are searching for in this life.

sorry to hear it..

my weekend was WICKED!

went to this huge party @ the best location in holland...

it was not trance, but as we dutchies call it: hardstyle...electronic music with not to much melodic stuff but an extreme strong BASE

damn that was BANGING, totally destroyed me that night :D :D

lasted till 7.00 am (sunday)... was at home round 12.00 am... I am still a wreck as we speak, but BOY, what a party (for those who now: line up was: kai tracid, dj session one, dana, pavo, luna, technoboy, alpha twins, derb and a bunch of others)===>>I think most of them are pretty unknown for most foreigners here.. but WOW, what a party (girls were hotter than hell too... a fellow TA (with who I always go to parties :) ) scored a VERY, VERY hot girl... lucky him

first off, sorry to hear about what happened.

My saturday was weird. Worked from 7am - Noon, then went home and called my buddy (Rev. Paroxyzm and he posts here as a newbie on TA, so please welcome him) to come pick up so we could chill and spin records. But, as stupid as I was, I fell asleep before he could pick me up, so he waited for like 1/2 an hour and then left. I work up three hours later at like 4pm and then called him. I trekked up to see him, we chilled and then spun some records. We tried to record a versus set, but his computer ed up the recording process. Oh well, it was good to chill with him and the such.
