Scooter, I almost would say "of course".

They have been using others stuff (melodies, lyrics, etc) for so long...

CHRles
That Status Quo record was sampled last year, and was big at the Hard Dance parties. Alex Kidd even dropped it in his Essential Mix.
Take a listen to Citizen "1980" and hear it for yourself:

Not that I would listen to it in my car or at home, but I think it's funny and has so much energy.
Played at the many events like May Day, Energy, Love Parade, Street Parade, Nature One, Trance Energy, Mysteryland, Inner City, Sensation Black, Dance Valley, Groundzero, Frequence, Decibel Outdoor, Defcon, Gatecrasher these tracks really are great and I can understand that they (still) are so popular. Some recognition and surpises always give fantastic crowd responds.

There are also more trancier remixes of oldies. E.g. My friend Lisaya, the Dutch half of Soulcry (Swedish Thomas Petersen is the other half) remixed this cover:

Tom Le Mont feat. Starship - We built this city (Soulcry)

Quess you maybe like this version better:

Tom Le Mont feat. Starship - We built this city (Topmodels)

Soulcry (Lisaya & Thomas Petersen)
Simcut
How do they get away with thieving off others the way they do?

and LOL at this track......

Probably then also the Soulcry version, but I actually like the buildup at 1:12.
Also for some reason I can't get this track out of my head after listening it... I like the synthy melodie.

In general I guess this sort of tracks is more popular in Germany and neighbour countries.... but there are even more :) :) :)

Soulcry remix:

Much closer to the original the Melodypark version (more like Run DMC vs Jason Nevins - Its Like That):

The freaky Varion Ltd verion:

Or the weird one, Naksi Mix:

"We Built This City" is an absolutely awful, cheesy song in the first place. Why would anyone remix it?

Spacey Orange
just the other day this song popped into my head. curse you ian!
