I've been waiting for someone to start a thread on the Oakie show coming up in two weeks, looks like I have to be the one to do it. :toocool:

I hate that this is on a Monday night but I'm still thinking about attending. Anyone else going?

If I go I'll probably be going by myself. Therefore, I would like to meet up with some TAs if anyone's interested.

Thanks...

Enjoy the trainwrecks.
ASoT1
and you can also expect him to drop armin singles like last time...

I knew I was going to get some negative responses after starting an Oakie thread.:nervous:
I agree that he's not the DJ he once was and I've witnessed a few Oakie train wrecks in my day. However, he's the DJ who got me into the whole EDM scene, and Tranceport (1998) was the first EDM CD I purchased.

Anyway, I always have fun at his shows and that's what it's all about for me.

Therefore, if anyone's interested in going, please let me know. I still don't know many people in Atlanta and the people I do know will be out of town for Thanksgiving or unwilling to hit the club on a Monday night.

Can anyone (Liquified) tell me what would be the advantage of buying VIP tickets for this event? I can't imagine there will be much of a line to get into Opera on a Monday night. Can I stand behind Oakie and simultaneously do Jesus hands?:stongue:

We did Oakenfold on the exact same day last year, the Monday right before Thanksgiving and we did over 1100 people. Ticket sales have already started selling pretty darn fast. This show will be just as busy as the last.

I seriously enjoyed last year's Oakenfold show. To be honest, I think Kenneth Thomas and Hybrid deserve the credit for that, since I couldn't stay long after Oakenfold actually started. I might try to stay later this year.

still can't believe oakie went on before kt last year... and that he opened with "rush hour" which i like.

would be going to this if i was in town...
romz
so are guetta, deadmau5, and oakenfold pretty much the big ones for the rest of the year?

This is a good surprise. I like Oakenfold. His set last year was short, but I honestly loved it. You'll get hate from most of these people for pretty much all trance djs. Don't worry about what they say. He is a legend and still plays some good stuff.

Oakie is a legend, I still listen to his Rojham and Goa EMs often, but I don't agree with any of his current stuff.

If he's giving away party favors filled with blow I may make it out to this.
