FIRST BIG GIG!! HELP!!!!
View this Thread in Original format
DJ Manuel C
Ok so here's the deal...I have played in different events in the past, however none of them compare to where i'm playing this weekend...I have been invited to play alongside another REALLY good DJ @ a Warehouse party...This is the first time that I ever play in a LOUD sound system, and for a relatively large crowd (100 +). I cant say that im not nervous, but i'm exited as well! If anyone with experience in these type of events has any suggestions, things to watch out for, or any general advice @ all please feel free to post! Your feedback would be greatly appreciated! CHEERS!

Good luck man! Let us know how it goes!

dont let the delayed vibratons of the system throw off your beatmatching :P

At very first you are extremely nervous and won't even look up at the crowd. After a while you ease up and just amp up the crowd. Just have confidence and you should do fine.

if you're opening....plan the first few songs out to get you going.

Make sure you have good earphones, if you dont have HDJ1000s or the likes get a loan. Helps immensely on a big system.

Also take time to get used to the way the sound "behaves" first few mixes should be smooth transitions, no cutting etc till you know what your levels are on the system.
