Time is not really another dimension. It is just another part of the spatial dimension. I guess you could say it's "integrated" into space...but not a dimension itself.

ok so the idea of time (like observations based on displacement of matter and energy, which have measurable values) is embodied in the lower and upper limits of the speed of light OR more tangibly, energy levels. a particle moving at the speed of light would have the highest energy possible while a particle at absolute zero (K=0) would have the lowest possible energy state. that basically is time

absolute zero is the more unknown front, since it's never been reached, the whole idea of reaching it seems ludicrous because how would be able to see or examine and manipulate matter whose parts are on both the macro and microscopic level are no longer moving. what happens to something at absolute zero? does it change into something else and in that state are the lawns of physics completely different? the LHC is concerned with the other part, extremely high energy particles.

if the science is true and energy only comes in discrete packets, then i'd say there's probably a way to eventually use this to travel through time. the real question is, if time travel were possible, how would the time dimension work. would it be so linear? could you so easily go to and from, or is it a one way gate? the worst thing that could happen is that time is linear and the past affects the present, or maybe not. i think now the idea that is agreed upon is that time isn't that linear, in fact if you traveled back in time, you would start a new world line and it would be completely different from your old world line. i'm not sure about the getting back to the present part

What?

Is this based on your opinion or did you read it somewhere?

this paper i read like around march of this year discussed the ideas but the part about time travel is really just my speculations. i gave the only hardcopy i had to a friend but i'll try to find it online, it was really cool but difficult as hell to understand what they were saying at first

I read about a theory about time travel that you could only travel back time to the moment time travel was invented, but as far into the future as you wanted. Sounded boring.

So pretty much.... THE MATRIX.

We know time travel to the future is absolutely possible for someone travelling very fast. Space and time are part of the same dimension "spacetime". So if you move extremely fast through space, the time "dimension" is displaced and you move slower through time than those who are stationary. So if you move at 99% the speed of light for like 10 years..traveling around the galaxy, when you return home, something like 400 years will have passed for everyone else. It's not strictly "time travel"..but time dilation, which obeys the laws of the universe. Einstein proved it possible 70+ years ago and modern experiments have verified it.

No I'm absolutely sure that time travel isn't possible. becuase if walking forward time goes forward too, so if u walk backwards (but fast enough to make sure you don't move forward at all) then time must go bac too. but i always move backwards fast and time doesnt go back or even slow to stop.

the other way to time travel is through the 7th dimension which some people say is fear, but it is too powerful to try to get to because it will attack,

What if they did travel from the future, but were instructed not to make contact?

not possible, when you time travel you lose your memory of everything but time temporarily. so you remember you came from the future but nothing else.

according to Hawking, wormholes might be able to provide a short cut for jumping between two distant regions of space-time. So, in order to travel back in time, you'd have to have a big spaceship or something that can travel faster than the speed of light, like a Delorean. And be able to find one of these wormholes.

A wormhole with an Einstein-Rosen bridge, which is, theoretically... a wormhole in space controlled by man.

(oh, and i need to get this book tomorrow at the library)

we're not so different after all...
