Best Trance Sets?
View this Thread in Original format

Hey guys every time I see an event review thread posted with a tracklist I see mixed reviews concerning the tracklist, and what I thought was a good set was seen by others as horrible.

So I'm trying to gather some idea of what the really good sets are like.

So post what you think is the best trance set you've heard, preferably in recent years.

Hate to say it, but still one of the best trance sets in recent years has to be Above & Beyond's Essential Mix IMO.

The one from a few years back that started out with Thomas Newman - Ghosts and segued into that Anjuna & Friends vs the Leama and Moor Crayons Remix?

That was a hot EM indeed but lost some steam in them middle imo. One of my favourite trance sets is an old ASOT: ASOT 95 with Misja Helsloot guesting. The tracklist:

04. Sensation - The Anthem 2003 [Tune of the Week]
05. Basic Dawn - Pure Thrust (Nu-NRG Remix)
06. Mike Shiver - Feelings [Future Favourite]
07. Greg Murray - I Feel Loved
08. Euphonic - State of Evolution
09. DJ Sammy - Sunlight (Pulser Remix)

Misja Helsloot Non-Stop in the Mix:
01. Robert Lidstroem - Recitation (Misja Helsloot Remix)
02. Midtone - Pearl (Darren Christian Remix)
03. 1st Movement - Sunrise (Halogen Remix)
04. Mind One Featuring Rena - Star For Me (Instrumental Mix)
05. Shane 54 - Vampire
06. Unknown Artist - Unknown Title
07. Afterburn - Summer Sun
08. Sturmkraft - Revolution (Robert Lidstroem Remix)
09. Les Hemstock - Unknown Title

No as in.... No, Acton doesn't even know what his own opinions are, or as in no, you just disagree and can't even think of anything constructive to say nor anything worth contributing?

Yeah that one, I thought the middle was just fine, dropping in Thomas Newman - Reading Room was a good touch.
mattymtl
the john o'callaghan essential mix was pretty good
Stanza
Check out Gareth Emery's podcast episode 50 with Menno De Jong early this year.

Both sets are an absolute blinder !

Wu Tang forever son !

Imagin
"you need to diversify your funds bitch"- Wu-Tang Financial

Ive allways like Ronski Speed- Live @ Sputnik (Intensivstation) mix. His blends aernt the best ever but the quality of tracks is what makes it for me

Is it kosher to recommend your own set in a thread like this? :p
