I love this look. This is exactly what I had in mind - I guess I could just go for my bed without the headboard and just sand it down and paint the er white.

meh, can't beat a good divan
with memory foam = ultimate comfort, aside from buying a snooker table and building a fort underneath it. |

at the end of the day it can work out quite cheap if you know what you are doing because of the lack of furniture.
Have you thought about a feature wall?
I like them but would get tired of it and all the pillows/throws would have to match ect. I would prefer an abstract painting to be above my bed if anything. |

as jolene said. however the different colour is usually quite contrasting or bright. We have one in our lounge where the fireplace wall is chocolate-ish coloured and the other walls are a creamy colour. It allows you to use a darker or vivid colour usually without the whole room feeling smaller. |

We did this in our house as well, green for the living, blue for the master bedroom and a bricklike reddish colour in another one. Looks great, especially when you add some accessories in the same colour. |

yeah. In our case the feature wall is a close-ish match to the carpet (although we had to change it for a different shade of after puppy-attacks) |
