The Canadian born Mike Shannon has recently located to Berlin via Montreal in 2007. After almost 10 years making a name for himself in the scene, Mike finally has put out a new full length album on Richie Hawtin's acclaimed Plus8 label entitled 'Memory Tree.'
On top of being a fantastic DJ, Mike Shannon also runs 2 of his own labels: Cynosure, and Revolver Canada with Jeff Milligan. Cynosure has welcomed artists who have inspired Mike as a DJ such as Pier Bucci, Monolake, Sieg Über Die Sonne, Brett Johnson and many more. Mike has also released many of his own productions under his dancefloor friendly label.
Revolver Canada is more on the experimental minimal side and has helped launch the careers of artists such as Akufen and Deadbeat.
Both these labels still continue to push forward thinking music to the masses. We at Blk|Market Membership are proud to announce Mike Shannon's Plus8 Album release party here in New York at Bar13 this Thursday Nov 13th. If you have not picked up a copy yet of his new album, we suggest you do as its a brilliant album and something completely different soundwise for Plus8 label!
Also added to the line up is Eddie Krillov from Alka_rex/Less NYC who will be performing the opening duties. Taimur+Fahad close the night.
