i usually try to make it a point to use songs that i think most people wouldn't normally know or pay attention to, or maybe old songs that flew under the radar, or just stuff that makes me all warm and fuzzy... makes it more personal that way, imo.

anyway i hope you enjoy it.

cheers, glad you're enjoying it!

out of curiosity what was hard to swallow about the beginning? progression of the tracks or just the tracks themselves? i know that style of music is probably not for everyone considering how, um... girly... it is.

hey, it was just too long a period of nothing really going on. understand, most of the music I listen to are higher bpm's, just by nature.. esp lately. whether it be rock, metal, trance, PROG, whatever.. i have a very very short attention span and I need the beats, speed and changes to keep me in focus.. I didn't find the beginning to be "girly" at all.. girly would be like, the theme to My Little Pony. or Gem. imo.

BUT. after listening towards the end, the beginning made more sense.. and overall, I would say this is really a nice whole - its quite fresh and it would be a great way to start off a party or something with some background music that starts to get more "partyish" towards the middle and end.. really nice Myra. I'll probably listen to it a few more times this week, I was listening on earphones now which are not bad but I wanna hear it on the monitors tomorrow.. my attitude could change about the beginning.. just need to ingest it a few more times.. for much of it I was just thinking to myself, "where on Earth does anyone get music like this?" that is a GOOD thing. :D

thanks for the kind words and for being specific about what you thought of it, Rubin. definitely brings a smile to my face. :)

the whole thing flourished out of my obsessions with the really emotional chill/downtempo stuff that i've been listening to this year, and the funkier stuff that no one seems to be playing anymore these days. i wanted to do a chill set for a while but once i started working on it i was overcome with the urge for funk, so it just sort of progressed into a combination of the two.
