What Program do you ues to find the BPM (Beats per minute) on a Loop or a song file if you don't know what it is on a DAW? I use Ableton Live or DJ software then i put the loop in my main DAW (Reaper) and set the BPM! Is there a easier way?

Live has pretty much the best analyser out of all of them.

Yep, Live usually works. Or if you don't mind doing it the slow way, you can always just try to sync up a drum machine with the loop after dropping it in your sequencer...

I use Mixmeisters BPM Analyserto BPM tracks for Serato, works v.v.well

How do you get Ableton to BPM your tracks as it warps them to any speed? I always have to adjust manually the markers.

If I dont use that prog, I just place the loop on a Reaper track and play a 4/4 brat and adjust the speed until they match up.

ears works too. just pitch it till it works.

I use the TAP-function in cubase. You tap the space-key to the beat and the tapped BPM will show in a few seconds.

That's one way, you can also use the audio tempo definition tool.

Click your fingers mate if you are a dj like me you will have impecable BPM skills. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 sounds old and cheesy but it was developed by drummers the and is the off beat. Or if u cant count beats look at waveform and look for obvious starts to bars like the immediate point after the drop. Then cut wav line up to the start of a bar and time stretch 4 beats of it to fit a bar then u get rough guestimate of how much stretching/shrinking it needs.

Seriously click click click click

Why would you count a minute of a track to see what the BPM is? And not only DJ's can count ;) I usually use Mixmeister BPM Analyzer (it's free!), or I will beatmatch a track with my midiclick in cubase..

I don't use protools any more for my main DAW, it was my 1st main DAW till i fell in love with Reaper. But one reason why i like Protools is because there is a plug in called Beat Detective! I think Reaper has some thing like Beat Detective but i have not found it yet!

Mixmeister Fusion is able to calculate BPM, and pretty accurate if I may say so!
