Seth Troxler (aka Thrill Cosby, Sex Trothler, Young Seth)
Spectral Sound / Crosstown Rebels / Wagon Repair
Detroit via Berlin

Through a leaking bodily cavity resembling the pork found in Chinese restaurants, Satan shat out a crystal beaming with glowing red embers. This crystal matured into the fetus of Seth Troxler. Seth was placed on earth as a weeping fetus, the sound of inevitability. As he grew, his ancestral roots took on a magnetic channeling power, more than his feeble mind could ever consciously fathom. As a result, he became capable of creating some of the world's finest and most intuitive dance cuts, including releases on Spectral, Wagon Repair, Crosstown Rebels, Circus Company, Items and Thing, Raum.. Musik, FXHE, Esperanza, Leftroom, and Beretta grey. As well as upcoming remixs on Minus and Adults only. His music has been featured on Audions Fabric mix, The circo loco 10 comp mixed by Arpiar, and Matthew Dears new mix for Get Physical.

Seth DJ career started in Detroit in 2002 at the age of 16 as a frequent Dj at detroit club The work and as a clerk at Detroit's famous Melodies and Memories records. Through these experiences Seth gained a preternatural understanding of rave culture, and dance history which now allows him to conjours up mixes like Botticelli conjoured his Venus. He has played many outstanding international gigs, notably Fabric (opening for Ricardo Villalbos ), Tenax, Panorama Bar, Watergate, Robert Johnson, The Rex, Fuse, Avalon and The End Up as well as being a resident at Berlin's legendary Club der Visionäre. Seth is also a bi mothly party host, and resident DJ at Berlin Weekend club and Cityfox's club Alte Borse in zurich w/ friends Ryan Crosson and Shaun Reeves. Before relocating to Berlin he was also a key conceptual force behind America's "Tesh Club" parties with partners in crime Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss. Now under the name Vissionquest, hosting the annual "Need is Say More" party which has become DEMF most anticipated open air after hours.

His musical influences include the chirping of crickets, the whirring of space ships, and the sweet sounds of whistling voodoo magic. However, Seth draws the majority of his inspiration from Robert Downey Jr., and the idea of releasing the shackles that bind Downey so he can finally do heroin in peace. Also seth enjoy cooking, long walk on the beach and candle lit dinners.

Shaun Reeves
Raum...Musik / Wolf+Lamb
Detroit via Berlin

A Detroit native whose move to Berlin was way ahead of its time, for the last four years Shaun Reeves has been enthralling European audiences with his own highly distinctive mixture of American house, both classic and contemporary, and the deepest, most cutting edge aspects of minimal techno and tech-house. In addition to playing in Berlin's celebrated Panorama Bar, Watergate, Arena Club, and the legendary Beatstreet loft parties, he has appeared in Robert Johnson (Frankfurt), T-Bar (London), Wolf + Lamb (NYC), Bunker (NYC), End Up (San Francisco), Cocoliche (Buenos Aires), La Sala (Bogota), Harry Klein (Munich), and many other clubs and parties in Europe as well as North and South America.

While searching deep in the back catalogue of house and techno for forgotten tracks that sound decidedly fresh and exciting, Shaun remains committed to pushing all genres of dance music forward. His is music not just for the dance floor, but also for the body, soul…and brain. As the recent resurgence of interest in the border between house and techno makes all too clear, Shaun has always been one to set musical trends rather than follow them.

Best known for his collaborative work as Uli Kunkel and with Miss Fitz, Shaun has recently been producing with fellow Detroit native and musical wunderkind Seth Troxler. The first products of their on-going collaboration appeared in July 2008 as the hotly anticipated “I Like You Too” EP on Raum…Musik. He has also begun to produce on his own, crafting elegant house music that has learned from the best aspects of minimal, while bringing back an element of emotional depth often lacking from that genre. And as friends and family know, Shaun's re-edits are highly sought after by DJs and music lovers, often stripping the music to its barest elements but in the process realizing a paradoxical complexity and sensuousness lacking in the original.

Ben Parris
Foundsound / We Are
Baltimore

Ben Parris lives in Baltimore, MD where he is finishing a doctoral dissertation on English Literature. He has released music for the Foundsound, Microcosm, Goosehound, and WeAre record labels. Born in the mountains of western North Carolina, he hates the beach but loves being outside. This helps to explain why Club Der Visionaere is Ben's favorite spot in the world to DJ, despite frequent appearances at European super clubs and parties like watergate, cityfox, panorama bar, weekend, club q, gazgolder gallery, and arena. These are fine places to play records, Ben thinks, but he can't stay away from the basements, back alleys, and hole-in-the-wall venues that are going strong 3 days after everyone else went home to feed the horse and take a nap.

At the moment, Ben is finishing his doctoral dissertation in English Renaissance Literature, which allows him limited time for touring and performing in the US and Europe. When he does manage to make it out to play, however, his music of choice runs the gamut from classic house and techno to the latest cuts from his favorite producers and cohorts like Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss, Miss Fitz, Agaric, Shaun Reeves, Seth Troxler, and Sergio Giorgini. Ben and Sergio have a bizarre love affair and even more bizarre side-project called Benjaminz that approximates dance music and bankrupts the genre. Ben is currently at work retooling his sound in an attempt not to remain too toolish for too long.

Half-way through 2008 Ben Parris has already seen lots of action with two european tours and new releases for the Foundsound and WeAre record labels. His summer 2008 EP, "From Rave to the Grave" has been charted and played by a diverse range of artists including Matthew Styles, Tiefschwarz, Ryan Crosson, Jeff Milligan, and Audio Werner. After a split EP with Kroppssprak released in August just at the tail end of his summer tour, Ben is amped up and ready for a 6 week venture back to europe in December and January, now armed with a new DJ setup of Traktor Scratch, faderfox, and an arsenal of unreleased and customized cuts epic and loony enough for any weekend-long challenge that emerges.
