I live in Ontario, where they are not permitted, so cops are less keen at catching users with them. I'm dot going back to Raleigh NC for another while. The detector detects all VG and Spectre detectors. The detectors cops use costs several thousand $, so very rarely they are used in my area unless they conduct a blitz.
It works great notifying me when traps are being used ahead, so when a cop radar or laser-targets another car a mile away, I know about it. It already paid for itself. |

They are illegal in Virginia also, but people still have them. |

| I have the speed trap app for iPhone. It's not to be depended for real time accuracy, but it can save u from "known" checkpoints for sobriety checks. |

very true, but I've been warned by my brother when driving through that state, that the cops nail a lot of drivers with those and show no mercy.
In the US I drive relatively safer than in Canada, since in many states, speeding is actually considered a crime ffs. |
