View this Thread in Original format Volterock Does anyone know of a good book on the different cultures each genre of music will assemble (maybe something of the anthropological collective would be best). I'm looking for one on pop music culture and another specifically about EDM genres and the variety of cultures it sprouts which will include their aggregate religious beliefs as well as many other cultural aspects included in psytrance, hardcore, EBM, etc. If you cannot think of a book, do you know of any online resources? Most of the source material I've encountered deals with the old school days. I recommend checking out a few titles like "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" (a history of DJing from the very early days, an informative primer), "TechGnosis" by Erik Davis (and, in fact, much of what you can find of Davis' writing online), the campy "Counterculture Through The Ages" by Ken Goffman & Dan Joy, and, if you don't mind the vacuous hype, "Cyberia" by Douglas Rushkoff (readable online).
